Great place for a drink or meal in Pocklington - something different than the local pub - the meals are top class - well worth a look in

Went here 3 years ago with family for my sobs 40th, not good, poor menu choice, service and food was cold, no coffee!! So thought it was worth another go with a few friends. Nothing has changed!! Poor menu choice, if you don't like steak or tapas don't bother, food not hot, still no coffee!!

We had a great meal tonight. They Catered for my 8 yr old with a smaller portion from the main menu. The staff were very friendly and Polite. Would recommend

We had our wedding reception there yesterday. The service was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. And the food was to die for.

Pretty good!We’ve been here a fair few times since it opened, and it’s usually really good. However, we’ve had the occasional visit where it’s just not been *quite* there, which is a shame as we always tell people how much we enjoy visiting. Nothing worth complaining about - just a little bit lower than their usual really high standards.Back on the plus side, they’re possibly the place to visit for the best Sunday lunch in Pocklington, and some of the steaks from here would be hard to beat in any other venue!

The meal was really very good but the service was a little less sharp. They managed to work themselves out of of a 20% tip by their non effective service. Right down to would you like to see the sweat menu? No, just a black coffee. No coffee ever turned up!!!!

Lovely place and nice staff but disappointing meal. Only ordered a simple sausage and mash - but for £12, it's a large plate with small amount of potato, 3 little sausages, and very greasy gravy. No veg. Not even a token amount. The Pipe and Glass (michelin star restaurant nearby) serves incredible sausage and mash for only £1 more, so Stamford's could really do with revisiting the charge or content of this meal.

Food was awful. It was wonderful when first opened. The staff were lovely and changed my food. It's a lovely place and I always used to enjoy and look forward to eating at Stamford. I wish you would stop trying to be fancy with your dishes and just stick to what you set out to be , quality, locally sourced food that is tasty. By the way, it is not acceptable to serve a chunk of cauliflower and call it a steak and serve with more cauliflower!

Been here a number of times. Cozy decor and excellent food. Friendly and efficient service from the staff. Steaks are their speciality but are pricey. Other food is very good value. Nice place to go to now and again. Not as prominent due to the location but great nonetheless.
