Nice place with a good menu and friendly staff. Great views off the decking of the river and bridge. Reasonable prices. The only gripe is to sit outside on the deck they put your drink in a plastic cup, so the deck is littered with plastic cups that blow away. I'm 37 years old Karen I think I can have a beer in the sun on a workday without smashing my glass like a Viking when I've finished!

Revisited an old haunt after not been for a few years. Very impressed mid morning coffee out by the river side the sun was shining sea lapping up. The interior is very smartly furnished staff friendly fantastic location.

Met some friends here yesterday for lunch. Not been here for 6 or 7 years. Really impressed with the decor, spacious and nicely furnished. The 6 of us all found our meals excellent. Staff were great. I had the chicken burger, very nice. Will definitely be back.

Not sure where to start here. We booked a table in the window a week ago. Turned up and table was already taken. Queue at bar was almost to the door. 2 bar staff working that were so slow. Wedding on at the venue and they were complaining that no service in their bar. Ordered food which, on a positive, arrived quicker than expected however only 5 of 8 meals turned up. Complained and remaining 3 arrived shortly after. We also received a refund for half the food. Food was good but overpriced. Tables were left uncleaned for 2 hours. Come on Country Park. Sort things out. Great pub in a great location but the service is appalling.

Not as nice as it used to be. They didn't have a coffee machine (their exact words) so had instant which was actually OK. Came for the steak which used to be stunning and served with vine tomatoes, balsamic dressed salad, flat mushrooms etc. It's still the same price but the quality is much reduced and the only Came with peas, a raw tomato and a couple of button mushrooms, though the chips were nice. Asked for ketchup and got 1 little sachet each. Even the atmosphere has changed and they turned the TV on very loudly just as our food came blasting football out, which ruined the meal for me as I can't stand football. Overall I won't be returning which is a shame as I was looking forward to the visit. There are much cheaper pubs offering the same closer to home.

If you're planning on booking a room with the lodges, I would suggest looking elsewhere.I had a room booked for my sister's wedding, which was rescheduled twice due to Covid. Every time I needed to transfer the booking, the lodges were a nightmare to get hold of. You're constantly left on answerphone if you try to ring, and will end up emailing with a guy named Alan Nicci. Sadly, the bar and restaurant have nothing to do with room bookings - so you won't get far by contacting them. I asked for an email confirmation for my room booking which was initially rejected due to the booking system being down. I was then offered a refund, but declined due to the event being my sister's wedding. Pretty disappointing that you'd rather refund someone than send an email confirmation? I eventually was sent an email confirming my booking.Just under 3 weeks before the wedding and I've received an email stating that my room has been cancelled due to a 'double booking' error. Under 3 weeks is quite short notice for a cancellation. I was also told that rooms were priority for wedding guests and family of any events you have booked in? The excuse of a double booking seems 'strange'. How has the room been double booked if your booking system was down? Also, my brother rang up recently to book a room and was offered one for a higher price than I paid! So there was recent availability for rooms. I have an email confirming the room is mine too, and verbal confirmation.I've heard the lodges have expanded their rooms. So instead of 6 suites, they now have 3 or 4 - at a higher price than I originally paid. It's pretty clear they don't want to give a newly expanded room to someone for the old asking price. Essentially, they've discarded my booking for someone who was willing to pay more. They've offered a refund for the deposit and I've accepted, won't be using you again. It's probably worth mentioning, this review is specifically for the rooms, not the bar or restaurant.

Absolutely delicious food, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the decor is lovely. All in all an extremely pleasant experience and a lovely place to have a pre Christmas meet up with my mum and aunt. I'd also happily spend time here enjoying a cosy meal with that special someone.

First event I've attended. Food we had was good although service was later than we were told. Communication about table meals seemed lacking as only 6 meals for a table of 10 seemed known and could have been checked easily pre service. Jersey Boys were excellent entertainment and got audience up on floor early.

Me and my partner popped in for a drink and bite to eat, after walking along the foreshore. It's a nice walk, and was nice to sit outside and enjoy the views. The service was good, and the food was nice.I had the veggie burger, and my partner wishes he had ordered it too. It was lovely and was well presented.

Sunday lunch well we did understand after a phone call they served a vegan options on arrival they was no options what so ever . So no food ordered. Did stand at the bar a while to be served for a drink and it wasn’t busy we did travel especially to visit country park. You have to pay for parking which is £1 per hour. Great location shame about the parking and lack of menu choices. Went elsewhere for Sunday lunch which was great not far from country park serving the menu choice we wanted.
