My husband and I went here for a family meal in July. The food was good and it all arrived at a reasonable time. The only issue we had was we couldn't put the 2 children we had with us In the play area without staying in there ourselves. This would mean leaving our guests and eating our food in the play area with the kids. The children were 7 and 10 so it wasn't like they were toddlers. So not worth paying the £4 each entry money 😩

Where do I start? I booked for one night on 2nd June 2022. I was a beautiful day, bright and clear skies. I had my 79 year old mother with me who has walking problems but they only had a few rooms left. We were put in room 19. On order to get to the room you have to go through 6 fire doors. My mother almost passed out getting to the room. On entering the room it was pitch black. I thought the curtains were closed but they were wide open. Outside the window is a huge hedge that blocked all daylight. After turning on all the lights and lamps the room was still a bit dim. For a minute I assumed that Dracula liked to stay here. We asked to be moved but they were full. We had lots of luggage was we are moving home and I had to make 3 trips to get it to the room through the 6 doors, excluding the room door. Let's just say that I will never be be back!Update:. Thanks for the feedback but just to let you know that we checked in at 2:30pm, check-in starts at 2pm. We walked in the room and came out immediately to ask if you had another room. We saw lots of people checking in after us throught the afternoon.

Very pleasant hotel, nicely decorated. Bedroom was well furnished, the bathroom was a little dated. The food in the bar was good, service was also good, we were informed waiting time for food was 30 minutes, the food arrived in approximately 15 minutes so we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were helpful.

Updated review. So it seems things have changed here for the better. My last review was 1 star due to the awful burger that was served, dripping literally with grease. However, we gave it another shot, as we have eaten here for years, and things indeed have gotten better again. The burger in the pic was a vimto burger, and oddly enough it works well together and was very tasty. My steak was medium rare and cooked perfectly. The chips were lovely and so was the onion rings. The food prices are cheap, but the dishes reflected a more expensive meal.Well done Hungry horse, the menu has more variety, and maybe you got a new chef, because things have gotten way better.

Bit of a travel from Hull city centre but the number 75 bus from the bus station drops you right outside for Ā£2.45p...tidy size car park shared with the hotel and the meal was up to the standard of all Hungry Horse I’ve eaten in....At Ā£2.75p the 3 scoops of caramel ice cream with caramel sauce was excellent.

I took my grown-up family who had a good selection of food, including 2 takeaway meals for a daughter who could not attend, and all were well cooked and very tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return in the future for another meal.

Where to start. I had the displeasure of staying here for 6 days recently. The pub itself is big and spacious with a nice layout but that's as good as it gets. The staff are awful. They don't crack a smile, are unfriendly and pretty much make you feel a nuisance, I did not get one nice vine from any of them. Which leads me on to the food. Wow I had the misfortune of ordering a green burger but what came out was anything but. A complete mess, looked like half the bun was mouldy I wish I took a photo. I have no idea how the cook thought it acceptable to send it out and then b how the "waitress" bought such a monstrosity out without questioning it.If the staff had been a tad more friendly I may have enjoyed my stay here and returned but I shan't be returning anytime soon.

Stayed for one night. Excellent value. Emporor sized bed a welcome surprise. Room could do with a bit of TLC but comfy enough. Breakfast was included and the attached pub (part of the Hungry Horse group) supplied great value large portions! Will definitely be staying again if in the area.

Fantastic Family Pub…Children’s Area:Opens at 9am! AMAZING.The play area is big, safe and very clean. The play area staff was very friendly and helpful and was either checking if people were okay or cleaning. They didn’t stop!Pub Area:Nice and spacious and clean. Very friendly staff.Food:The food is very reasonably priced and great quality. Hot and fresh and if you need extras the staff are more than happy to sort.Location and parking:Great location, free parking and lots of it.Highly recommend this pub…the service alone makes it a great pub.
