The Old POst Office in East Riding of Yorkshire

We were three walkers from York that were going to walk from Withernsea to Mappleton and we called in at 9.15am and we had egg sandwich and pots of tea, and we have to say we had the best service you could ask for and from the most pleasant and happy staff. CHEERSPeter Mollan

Great selection of light dishes and cakes. Very dog-friendly, staff gave out chocolate lab cross lots of fuss and treats.Also sells a good selection of natural, homemade dog treats, our dog loved the peanut butter ice cream.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming to us and to our dogs. We had a tasty sandwich and drink in the conservatory and then ordered an afternoon tea for the next day. We collected the afternoon tea and took it to eat at our holiday cottage. I’m glad we did as it took ages to eat it all! Definitely the best we’ve ever had, such a variety of lovely, freshly made food. Highly recommended.

Over priced.On recommendation we were told to visit and walked from hornsea whilst on holiday. Won't be doing it again.Needed a good sweep outside.Get rid of dog paraphernalia up for sale in conservatory, bit of an eyesore.Sandwiches from £4.00 to £4.50.No fancy bread just ordinary loaf with crust cut off, lucky if you get 2 bites a triangle.Egg mayo and beef almost same price which didn't seem to equate.We had cream tea and was overcharged by 1.50 at till.

Incredibly delicious food, perfect after having a walk on the beach 2 minutes away. Homemade scone with clotted cream and jam was perfection and lovely to know that the eggs are sourced from the on-site hens. Friendly service and very cosy interior. Will be visiting Mappleton just to come here again!

Lovely late lunch here today, I had a jacket potato and husband had crab sandwiches. Followed by ginger and lime cake and a scone . Absolutely delicious food , all made fresh daily, would highly recommend it . A nice chat with the friendly , welcoming owner too . Will definitely be back soon.

I think the phrase "hidden gem" is often overused, having said that the old post office definitely fits the bill.From the lovely and friendly owner who gave our little dog the warmest of welcomes to the exceptional home cooked food and cakes.The rear terrace is a lovely environment to sit and enjoy breakfast, lunch or coffee and cake after a long walk on the beach.

This is our go to cafe. Dog friendly, close to the beach. A good pot if Yorkshire tea and a good choice of homemade cakes.The beef and gravy filled roll is the best.Oh they sell really good dog treats and aeccories- Lola loves her waterproof Onesy.

TEA SHOP ( the old post office) at Mappleton beach is a great place to stop and relax after taking your dog for a walk on the beach .- Great for walkers / cyclists and campers who have walked from the campsite at Great Hatfield ( woodlake) to take their well earned break at this warm and friendly teashop ( dog friendly) with lovely food / cakes/ ice cream and dog treats

one of the most dog friendly cafes we have ever visited. staff were all lovely. hot chocolate with all the trimmings was fantastic and no complaints about the bacon and sausage sandwiches either. bonus that the beach is at the end of the road too.
