The Owl Hotel in East Riding of Yorkshire

When paying £15 for a steak pie I'd expect something better than a Pukka style pie (the sort they used to sell in chippies) with no chunks of meat, a dollop of potato and a small portion of veg. The fish and chips were not much better and priced similarly. I don't think it would cost a great more to provide food that is reflective of the price being paid.On the positive side the staff were very pleasant.

Excellent service by Emma Morris, she was very polite and efficient. Made our meal enjoyable and we will definitely be back soon thanks to Emma’s warm and welcoming presence. She is a credit to the company. 10/10 service!!

Stayed here for 2 nights. Room was clean and comfortable. Towels were already in the room. We stayed in the annexe which is situated a short walk across from the main hotel. The restaurant was lovely and inviting. Food was really good, we had the breakfast and an evening meal. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend staying here or even just treating yourself to a night out.

Booked for me by my work. I always give 5stars.Large comfortable room with kingsize bed. Fairly clean and with the usual tea and coffee offerings. No complimentary shampoo or shower gel unfortunately. I had to leave before breakfast so can't comment on it.Important context: My experience was a 1 night stay and does not represent this establishment in it's entirety. No-one in hospitality sets out to provide a poor experience. Anyone can have an off day.

I visit quite often because I live nearby and have enjoyed the food and atmosphere each time I’ve been. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is always lovely, I particularly enjoyed the desserts yesterday. I took my mum and boys for Mother’s Day and it felt like a special occasion.The children’s meals are good and they really enjoyed the roast dinner as did my mum and I.I'm looking forward to the next visit.

We had a table booked for 7.30pm we arrived at 7 to have a drink first ended up waiting 15 minutes for our drinks seeing as my partner had to remind the waitress otherwise it would have been longer, upon finishing our meals we were sat with our empty plates in front of us for another 15 minutes whilst we chatted, food wasn't bad but because of the service we won't be going back. It's a shame really as we were getting treated to a meal from some friends so spoilt it.

Went for a meal with friends on a Tuesday night. Not very busy but tables well spread out. The food was fab, we all had the beef burger and all really enjoyed it. Really tasty and the portion size was manageable!!Staff were so friendly and helpful and although we were the last ones to go there was no pressure to leave.Would definately go back again soon

Room was clean but basic - TV didn’t work. We ate in pub and there were a few things not available from the menu but the food we had was nice. Pub has a lovely atmosphere and staff were very friendly

We had a lovely relaxing pre Christmas meet up. We had the lunch menu which was great value and treated ourselves to a few non alcoholic cocktails. The food was good for the price, and staff were very helpful and friendly. It was sad to see it was so quiet just before Christmas due to the pandemic, but we certainly enjoyed it and hope more people venture out and about soon.

Just spent a lovely afternoon at The Owl for a Christmas lunch with old work colleagues. Michael and Tyler were very helpful, cheerful waiters with the right level of attention but didn't rush us. The food was delicious and great quality. Thanks to everyone in the kitchen too.
