"We are a friendly, local, family run public house. We welcome children during the day (until 8pm) and offer an excellent choice of food. The pub has a wonderful outdoor seating area, right in the heart of Wednesday Market & offering spectacular views of the Minster, the perfect way to enjoy a sunny day. If you wish to enjoy some of our home cooked food you are more than welcome to stroll in, but if you wish to book in advance we are always happy to cater for you. If you are planning an event give us a call to check availability or contact us on the contact form provided. As soon as we receive your booking we will call you to verify details."

We have eaten at the Queens Head a few times, the food is home cooked at a very reasonable price. Several of the meals have a smaller portion available which we tend to have as the normal sized meal is very generous. The pub is quite dark and 'oldie worldie' but pleasant enough and seem to be popular.

DJ doing the karaoke is really good. Always has the songs you like. Sadly, the barmaid with the blonde hair has one of those annoyed faces that does not want to be there. This was even mentioned to us by the coule sat next to us. A bit off putting. Sad also to have no cask ale available on our visit. All three pumps were off. Bit of a let down on a Friday night.

A nice pot of tea and cake, I was driving, but the range of beers did look good. A friendly pub.

Just had Christmas lunch here, such good value for money, served by friendly attentive staff who did all they could to ensure that we had a pleasant eating experience. Highly recommended.

Had a nice bowl of soup, & my friend had lasagne, said it tasted home made. Also their Sunday carvery is excellent. Nextdoor table had afternoon tea, which looked wonderful, must try it.

As always a lovely roast dinner in the pub. Tables are very close together so you need to bear this in mind. Pleasant staff doing table service.

After my sister was recommended this place for afternoon tea. We booked as we were told this was required for the afternoon tea. It felt awkward upon arrival and been told to sit anywhere. We did find a table which had some empty pots on. These were cleared after a short wait. From previous experience s of When I have booked afternoon tea at other locations, when we have arrived we were shown to a laid table, just felt this was a little higgled. we sat for little over 10 minutes the table was cleared. The lovely rushed lady came over and brushed some rice away from the table top. Then called someone to come wash the table. We did get the absolute lovely selection of cakes and some sandwiches. There was enough food to fill another person. So would agree to say this was good value for money. However, I would suggest management look at how hard there staff do work. As we overheard staff discussing that there is no point in making any extra effort as you are no better thought of. So maybe they need to make the staff feel they are a team, after all they are the ones making them the money.

The Queens HeadWhere everyone knows your name. This cosy, pretty pub is defiantly worth a visit, Les and his daughters make you feel so welcome. The pub has just been re decorated and looks lovely. In the summer we love relaxing outside in the seating area in Wednesday market watching the world go by. We often pop in for their karaoke and top class music evenings. The home cooked food is delicious and we can definitely recommend the Sunday lunch, great value and an added bonus they always use local sourced produce and they also do a home delivery service.
