We called in for an early lunch and were delighted by the quality and quantity of the food. It was not wildly adventurous, but sufficiently different for us to stumble over what to try!! It was also modest in prices, and very cheerful service.

Nice friendly young staff, shared the ham and cheese platter, very good.

Hubby and I stopped here for a drink after a lovely walk at nearby Millington. The Ramblers Rest is easy to find with on street parking outside. The building is very quirky with oodles of character and beautiful old stone floors. The tables are nicely spaced, not too small, and laid very nicely too. There is also a good sized outside seating area with some tables and chairs and also some picnic benches under a gazebo too.We had a tea and a coffee and a piece of homemade Raspberry Bakewell which was absolutely delicious! The jam was excellent and clearly homemade too! There were even raspberries in the frangipane and flaked almonds on top! A huge slice too! Definitely worth coming back for! (It was so good I forgot to take the photo first!)The staff were very friendly and tables were cleared and cleaned efficiently too which is always good to see :)Thank you everybody, we will be back :)

This place is just lovely! Managed by really friendly and personable professionals, everything clean, so nicely decorated and comfortable. And the food, all home made, is absolutely delicious and plentiful. We cannot recommend it highly enough

Very tasty fresh food an and cakes, couple pound more than some cafes / tea rooms but well worth it

This is definitely my most favourite cafe/restaurant. The staff are fantastic and the food delicious. Beautiful old room ranges with fires greeted us on a rainy day

Excellent food and lovely friendly staff. Very cosy in the back room with a roaring fire in an original range. So good we wanted to book an evening for our 40th wedding anniversary but disappointed to be told not taking any bookings because of covid. Shame.

Unfortunately wasn’t impressed with our visit this time… there were 6 of us out walking and wanted to stop for coffee and cake… when we walked into the foyer area… there was no eye contact with any member of staff walking about… the notice said to wait to be seated… so we waited, after over 5 mins one member said she would be with us soon… but as soon. As we said there was 6 of us… it was a NO we have no seats… very rude!! We could sit outside! So we decided just to order coffees… it was very windy and cold outside… didn’t want to be eating outside!! So in twos we ordered our drinks, and went outside to wait… and we did wait… approx 25-30 mins for 6 hot drinks… there were a few people leaving so we did go in to check if we could get a table, but the answer was NO again… one of our party even went in to ask where the drinks were… and eventually they came out!! They did apologise but we felt by then the service was terrible and staff unfortunately were not helpful… we stay at KP lodges and like the walk to millington and the cafe… but we won’t be going back… which is a shame as it’s the lovely cafe… just a shame the service is so slow!! And I know when staff are stretched the customers can suffer and we felt they were definitely not friendly to us!

Well worth a visit. Good food and helpful staff. Have visited on several occasions and not been disappointed

6 of us stayed just one night walking the wolds way. We all loved our luxurious rooms, the fantastic bedding and instead of mugs a proper tea pot, cups and saucers in your room. Just little details that make your stay special. Breakfast was amazing and great rolls to take away. Coupled with a very friendly welcome what more can you ask for??Just be aware there is only the pub to eat in the village on an evening and does not serve food every day.
