I brought my family in for a meal. On entering the lounge bar we were greeted by a young lady who served us with drinks. When I said we were eating she suggested starting a 'tab' at the bar and then called over the lady in charge of the restaurant area. We were shown to a large table in the centre of the room. It was quite busy for 7.0 p.m. with other children with parent which made for a nice family atmosphere. Our waitress was very helpful, the menu was very comprehensive. Although the children weren't really hungry, she suggested some starters which they could have instead of full meals. The food was excellent, the service first class. We ordered a bottle of wine from the wine list, an Australian 'Shiraz', which was very nice and fairly priced for a restaurant. The entire meal was lovely, the atmosphere convivial and the staff very helpful and friendly. I've known this public house for over 50 years, but it has never been this good before. Well done. It's wonderful to think that Kirk Ella has, at last, got a decent family hostelry back.

Made the most of the sun terrace on the the jubilee weekend, perfect sun trap with plenty of seating. We went for the lunch menu for a change and the food was delicious as always. The staff are friendly and accommodating. We are lucky to call it our local.

Sunday lunch visit.... very impressive options on the menu, all of party of 6 ordered different meals (Pork, Chicken, Lamb, Beef Pie, plus 1 child meal). The meats were tasty and the veg accompaniments were varied. The pub and dining area have had a recent (and needed) renovation. Good selection of draft beers and wine (by the glass or bottle). We will return

What a beautiful refurb! Every space looks smart and welcoming. Very comfortable and atmospheric. Staff are extremely welcoming and efficient. The outside space is a wonderful addition, with plans for live music outside in the Summer. Very good menu but be prepared as drinks are quite expensive. Well worth a visit!

From making the reservation, discussing the menu, table position, providing the pre order and the service throughout the meal all was excellent. The Mothers Day menu online was at first a bit confusing but it was soon established which menu we could select from. All staff very welcoming and attentive, thank you, especially Sam and Eve and a young man supervising the restaurant.

Had a lovely evening with friends. The young tall waiter (?James) was an absolute credit, polite, chatty, friendly. He made our evening. The food wasn't bad either😊

We've had a fantastic meal with a fantastic atmosphere. Staff really helpful and friendly. I know prices are higher at Christmas. However, we wouldn't hesitate again given the quality of food and service. Special recognition and thanks to your chef 💖🎄
