Main course excellent. Pudding very poor. They just poured the crumble mixture in it. Didn't cook it at all. Sent it back 3 times and by then the custard was cold.. So sorry only a 3

Great for a roast. Portion size will fill the hungriest of people. Service leaves alittle to be desired, waited a while to be seated and stood at the bar for a refill whilst being ignored by the person serving (nobody else there to be served). In all good value for money but service could be better.

Disappointed, we ordered chicken goujons to start with and you couldn’t cut them they were so hard. Yorkshire puddings were really hard too and everything was just like warm. Waiting staff were very friendly and efficient though, we will not be visiting for a while.

Saw report in a daily news paper which gave a very bad report on this restaurant for Christmas day lunch. It must have been somewhere else as the food and service was excellent on the 27th December. Yes the veg were over done but try cooking for a lot of customers who are getting meals over a period and you will get that. By keeping it hot it will keep cooking. The staff were friendly and efficient and couldn't do enough to help.Would recommend this restaurant to anyone

We visit Toby at Willerby quite often, mostly for the roast carvery, but occasionally for the breakfast buffet. We decided to go this morning for a breakfast treat and I'm afraid to say the food was really poor and certainly not up to its usual standard. What I will say though is the few staff that were there were friendly and were doing a good job of cleaning the tables down quickly between guests, although there seemed to be a lack of coordination which made for a poor meal.So to start with, we ordered 2x breakfast buffets, 1 of them with vegetarian sausages which we were told would be brought to our table. Unfortunately we never did get them despite me confirming it a while after we'd gone to our table. We thought we'd start with some toast but had to ask for bread as there were only crusts left. This took a little while, and when we did get some fresh (half frozen) bread out, I then had to wait for a clean plate as the only ones on the servery were dirty. Eventually got our toast sorted and went to the servery and there were no meat sausages, no eggs and no hash browns. We were told it would be 5 mintues wait for the sausages to be cooked so we got what we could from what was available after a short wait. Didn't bother with the mushrooms as they were so dry they looked like they'd been there for days, and we got our hopes up when a fresh plate of potato hash was brought out (without the usual bacon and onions in it) only to get back to the table and find the potatoes weren't cooked properly and tasted raw. The breakfast yorkshire puds weren't the usual bacon ones either, just plain (and cold), but we managed to make several trips backwards and forwards getting individual things such as a fresh sausage or fried eggs as seperate things were brought out from the kitchen. We were in there almost an hour and never did get the veggie sausages we asked for.Overall just very disappointing and not up to the usual standard, the food was hit and miss and you couldn't get a plate with everything on at the same time, and what we did have was either not cooked properly or not hot. Not sure if they're struggling with staff absence like many places at the moment but if you can't put on the service people are paying for maybe you should consider reducing the menu slightly so you can at least provide some food at the expected standard.Think we'll be leaving it a while before going back again and to be honest I don't think we'll be going for breakfast again.

Went for family lunch, 6 adults & 2 children, all ordered the carvery. But found the food today not as hot as usual and although they brought out a fresh turkey the slices were a bit rubbery & tasteless. The staff were very friendly and welcoming 😘

First time here as was a passing visit & we thought Toby Carvery will be a "safe option." Ended up leaving food & walking out. Absolute health Hazard!! Went up to get the carvery & it was swarming with flies across the top beam. Spoke to the chef server there about the amount of flies & he didn't seem to bothered, just handed me the plate. Food spilled all over the sides in both sections of food area & other sauce table..looked like it had never been cleaned throughout the day. It looked like something from Hells Kitchen!!Manager didn't even bother to come address the situation of our concerns, just left it to the poor lovely waitress. Considering also that you have to book, so they should know the numbers coming in and out- was told no gamon upon entry when waiting to be seated. But there was no meat left apart from dried out turkey and a bunch of flies. Absolutely shocking the health hazard of the place! Needs the environmental health in!

Haven't been here since 2018, it's had a refit since our last visit. It all looks clean & tidy. Previously this pub has been very busy & we've been turned away so I booked online, it was very quiet tonight, maybe because it's Bonfire Night? Carvery plentiful & generally delicious. All the staff we met are friendly, cheerful & helpful. 4* review for 2 reasons, disappointingly they only had John Smith's Bitter, not my husband's favourite! Previously the Bitter has been very good. Plus the cauliflower was undercooked. Great puds though. 🍰👍
