Perfect for a quick bite to eat and a pint - loads of room outside and friendly staff

Just left this pub 5 minutes ago, was looking forward to the steak and ale pie that we had read good reviews on. Wish we hadn’t stopped! The pie was some very dried up meat on a tuff pastry base, the peas very dry and tasteless looked like they had been microwaved, chips looked recooked and the gravy was like water! I saw they were advertising for a cook, definitely need one. Extremely overpriced. We did mention to the barmaid it wasn’t the best, who replied with would you like the deserts menu? No thanksIn reply to your response, my plate was far from empty! Please check your bins

Late booking and arrival for one night, very helpful owner, arrangements as said, comfortable, clean room, welcoming tea, coffee and biscuits, quiet location. We'll recommended

Popped in for a pint. Nice busy pub even for a work night. Had sports on the TV. Never had food but it looked good. Nice village pub.

Really nice place. Warm and welcoming and the 'Boss' could not do enough and had a great sense of humour too. Highly recommend.

Proper village pub, loved it. Stayed in a cottage round the corner and used this as the local watering hole. Decent selection of beer, had a wide range of food. Was slightly put off at first as its a Greene King branch but this pub kept its local ethic. Quality food made fresh, including a full curry menu! 100% will go back!

Friend had a curry (home made and totally delish so I'm told). I had steak and ale pie, again..... Would love to try other things but can't tear myself away from the pie...All with a warm, friendly atmosphere and a toasty open fire. After a long walk. It was hard to leave. Wonderful local pub.

Really pleasant stay here. The room was comfortable and clean with a separate bath which was nice. Pub is very welcoming and the staff are fantastic, really friendly and helpful. Food was lovely too and a great breakfast in the morning. I was on my bike and felt it was really secure parked up as it’s off the main road through the village. Really great stay, highly recommended.

We stopped for one night on a Saturday in one of the dog friendly rooms. All the staff were lovely. The room was very nice and spacious which was fantastic as we have two big dogs ! The bed was so comfy and warm and the best nights sleep I've had in a long time. We had burgers on Saturday night and they were so good, the pudding was really nice too :) In the morning we had a full English which was perfect and even had a sausage for the dogs! Our stay was so lovely, definitely will look to stop again if I'm in the area.
