Bank Holiday Monday - 18th April 2022The Ivy has been on our list of restaurants to visit in Yorkshire for a while. With venues in Leeds, Harrogate & York.We booked the York venue online before. You can walk in however you may have to wait and be disappointed if you can’t get a table. The venue is very stylish and classy. The layout and decor is very spacious and nice. Our host led us to our table and in a short time we had the menus and we’re ordering our drinks & meals. The service was first class, the presentation of the food was what you’d expect of a brand like the Ivy.This was mid morning so most people were having breakfast in smart/casual attire. Maybe lunch & dinner you’d dress up more slightly. The food great, the best breakfast I’ve had. 10/10. Your not going to get a Mitchellin star for a full English, but it was excellent and very filling.I couldn’t fault one thing today and it was a lovely dining experience in a great setting & location - highly recommended

I can't believe I haven't visited sooner.. did not expect The Ivy to do such beautiful vegan options! Lovely place to eat, great service and cool pink toilets! I would recommend the vegan Asian salad and the zucchini fritters. They were both sooo good! Would also recommend the flavoured tequila on the rocks! Loved the amount of vegan options on the menu!

English food is a huge compliment here. The rabbit stew was so good and the sticky toffee pudding was a great way to end off.Loud but crowded. The noise took away from the ambiance. Come with a reservation, for sure. Our waitress was polite but we had many people serving us and checking on us throughout. We will come back.

Amazing place. Twice celebrated a birthday here and they brought a complimentary cake and candle as a surprise. Food is quality and the staff are amazing. Highly recommended if you want a special night out in York.

Doctors food, beautiful decor and atmosphere, and the service was impeccable. We were celebrating our anniversary and they even gave us a free celebratory pudding! Loved the whole experience.

Visited here for Sunday afternoon meal. On walking into the entrance it feels quite compact and I’m sad to say there was an overpowering smell which smelt like fish and if we had not made a booking we would have left due to this smell. The staff were very friendly and relaxed which made it enjoyable. The menu is varied and the food is reasonably priced. Food well presented and tasted really nice. Drinks we felt were overpriced if you like to have a few drinks over lunch this will make this an expensive experience.Having now been to the Ivy we don’t think it is a place that would be first on our list to revisit.

Excellent meal and great choice for vegetarians. The food is so full of flavours and we tried a few cocktails also. We were served by Nora who was so friendly. Recommend the cheese soufflé and the apple tart fine, delicious 😋

I came here for the afternoon tea and it was fantastic! The service was fast and friendly and our server offered advice on vegan friendly options. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The attention to detail is unmatched - even the restroom was elaborately decorated

Booked the Ivy for our anniversary tea.All staff were great, extremely courteous and pleasant.Food was amazing, even almonds and sour dough loaf for the table were tasty. My wife chose the Shepard’s pie which I’m happy to report joined the clean plate club.I went with the burger, which was good but kind of regretted not getting the steak as originally planned. Also the chocolate bomb desert was delicious. Melted chocolate with salted caramel and vanilla ice cream. Our waiter brought us cream eclair as an extra desert as they knew it was our anniversary; such an appreciated gesture.A great experience and would love to visit again.

We visited York yesterday (08/09/2021) and managed to get the opportunity to dine here (there was a cancellation). We hadn't planned where to eat but are so glad we ate here. All I can say is that it was a wonderful experience, from the welcome of reservation staff to such amazing food. Our server (not sure if that is the correct term!) Laura, was such a lovely, knowledgeable, helpful, polite and just very professional without being stuffy young lady. Laura is an asset to the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and our party of 4 enjoyed everything that was ordered. We loved the courgette fries!!! I honestly don't think you can make a bad choice here. We will definitely be visiting again and will sing your praises to whoever will listen. The restaurant overall has a lovely relaxed vibe and the most comfortable chairs ever and we didn't feel rushed in anyway. We enjoyed our time at the Ivy and felt thoroughly spoilt. Thank you!
