Room was ok, good solid furniture, decor a little tired and on the whole clean except for ball of chewing gum by bedside table, stairs up to first floor and restaurant not cleaned in 2 days we were there. Many reviews and hotel refer to on going improvements but no sign of them being done, hallway and carpets need replacing.Biggest disappointment was breakfast, we booked room & breakfast only to be told at reception no longer do cooked breakfast only continental 8 to 10am, well first morning 9.10 every table had dirty plates, cups etc. so had to clear a table as no staff at reception and no-one around, help yourself at table, 2 odd cups one if which dirty, no plates, spoons, serviettes, butter, 1 pint plastic glasses for juice that was left so if you wanted cereal or yoghurt a fork, toast jam only no fruit or ham/cheese or similar - this was the worst breakfast l have ever had in over 40 years of staying in hotels. A member if staff walked just before we left looked at what was left and walked straight out again.I did complain later when someone at reception but just told 'we must have been busy no apology - Sunday morning cutlery and napkins on tables, still not much choice but added crumpets and butter !

My wife and I stayed for the Easter weekend for a family event. On arrival we were informed that hot food was not available, not even breakfast, due to having no chef. This despite the venue promoting itself as a hotel and restaurant. A cooked breakfast is hardly difficult. There are references to the hotel/restaurant team around the hotel and menus at various locations even on the notice board outside on the main street. A hotel without food is like a pub without beer.We should have been informed of the situation before we arrived so we could be prepared.I should say that the room was fine and we may have stayed again in the future had we been treated with a little more respect.

We booked in for two nights and although it was very clear light renovations and decorating we’re taking place Becky bent over backwards to ensure our stay was comfortable and that we had everything we needed. We checked In early, which wasn’t a problem for her, the free continental breakfast was lovely, and the hotel was in a great location of StokesleyThis lovely couple ventured into this new business adventure a few months before Covid hit, I couldn’t begin to imagine the financial pressures they were hit with. The hospitality industry has suffered more than most but to hang onto a dream and be given so many bad reviews must be soul destroying. All too often people dive in without knowing or understanding the facts. Words in bad reviews are so damaging. This place is going to be amazing when it’s finished it’s not a huge hotel chain, its someones dream, be kind. Thanks Becky and good luck for the future. Will definitely book here again.

Nice enough room but only had shower no bath & long walk along corridors & up lots of stairs to get to my room. A cooked breakfast not available but would have been nice.

We booked a room to stay while having some house renovations done. We were lucky enough to get one of the brand newly refurbished rooms which was really nicely done out. Our other room was awaiting refurbishment but this is a work in progress and if all rooms are refurbished to such a high standard then I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms were imaculate and lovely and warm. They provided complementary breakfast. We have stayed there before and would definitely stay there again.

We really loved our stay here! It is a no frills, good value hotel. It is clean, comfortable, warm, amazing shower(!) and quiet with super helpful staff. We had room 1, it is worn in places and could do with some simple upgrades but the bed was sublime! I slept 11 hours the first night! Breakfast was £7.50, simple changes could help aid service like having tea/coffee out and not served individually - more options for each item in the continental breakfast inc. toast. Maybe some music, also quite cold in there. But considering for the 2 nighrs prior to our stay we were in a far more expensive/higher graded hotel where we literally didn't sleep - this place was great!

Horrendous. Cold and dingy room, shower took 10 minutes to warm up. TV did not work, was told they would leave TV remote with new batteries in reception as we were going out, when we returned nobody on reception and no remote. Asked about food and was told a private party were arriving so the chef would be too busy. Seems paying guests aren't as important. The private party were really noisy until almost 1.00am. This was supposed to be a relaxing break, but was ruined completely by an inconsiderate hotel owner, only interested in taking our money. Do not use.

The staff were really welcoming, friendly & helpful. The food was the best I've had in a long while & considering the high standard it is cheap for what it is.Rooms were clean & comfortable & are due to get even better as they are currently going through a refurbishment. (Which didn't affect our trip in the slightest)The staff & manageress should be proud, would definitely visit again.
