Nice Sunday Lunch service here. Staff were friendly, but forgot to bring drink order, so lose a star for that. Lots of people dinning with children, so clearly family friendly. Lovely views over their outside terrace and garden area, will certainly go again.

Food excellent, Staff very welcoming and helpful. Building "oldie worldie" very clean and pleasant. Gardens outside going down to river, where you can sit at the many tables outside to enjoy your food and drink in good weather. Really enjoyed our visit. 👍

Very friendly staff, good beer and excellent food. And open on a Tuesday lunch.I arrived late but was treated to a very good ham and cheese sandwich. Many thanks, I will be returning.

My husband and I were recommended the restaurant when we stayed in York last weekend. We are bi no means snobs at all. We ordered fish and chips, and if a chef can't get this right then I wouldn't even call them a cook. When it arrives it was very well done, and on trying the fish being about 8 inch long there was at least 3 inches of thick batter one end a about an inch or thick batter the other end. The chips were oven chips, which I can except, but these had clearly been reheated as they were chewy and only like warmThe waitress asked if everything was OK. I told her in a polite manner that the meal was dreadful. She just said OK. And when we went to pay she avoided us as we approached her. We don't mind paying £34 for fish and chips if it's nice. But this was dreadful and the service was no betterDenise and dave richardson

Great pub right on the riverside, pretty busy so would advise booking, do a lovely pizza; beer is well kept and staff are very helpful.

Friendly staff and enjoyable meal. Fish and chips got the thumbs up from the kid. The salmon was fine if a little bland, steak was good although quite fatty. It is a fattier cut than I usually go for. The crème brûlée was more like lemon curd. Tasty, but lemon curd. One to try again for sure.

Another stunning meal out, beer is great and food just lovely with really nice menu options.Pizzas looked very good and as well as offering take away orders, but the duck and Chicken dishes we had were superb. So glad we came here again rather than heading into town.

Great decor - simple, but homely. Very friendly feel, with lovely staff and tasty food. Each aspect was 5*. I had tempura vegetables (red pepper, mushrooms and tender stem broccoli) to start, with a curried veg pie for my main. The only thing I can't comment on was the alcohol because I don't drink. Prices weren't cheap, but it was good value.

Really lovely Sunday lunch. I had roasted pork belly which was moist and well seasoned with crispy crackling around the edge. Well seasoned veg and a gravy pot. Good alternatives for husband who is not into Sunday roasts. The pub itself is cosy and welcoming. Large car park at the rear and online booking system works well. Staff very efficient and friendly. Will look forward to a second visit with family.

Had a great lunch here with the family. Food was excellent and the service from the young lady looking after us was warm friendly and helpful. One of our 'go to' places for a great dog friendly meal out.
