Dog and Gun Pub in Hambleton

I am really impressed with the quality of food served here. The menu is about the right size now, used to be far too much choice which implied meals bought in, but I could be wrong. Lovely tasty food, good sized portions and reasonable price. Would recommend giving the Sunday lunch a try. Scrummy.

An atmospheric olde world pub ideal for children and dog owners alike. An extensive menu with a great veggie choice and a little menu for your canine companions. Our pup wolfed down his sausages and gravy. It was a sunny day when we visited and the outdoor area looked very inviting, especially the upper level. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended. Will definitely be returning with the rest of the family.

Was on holiday in the area and went to this pub a few times. The food I had was great. Crispy Pork Belly with requested cranberry sauce and Roast of the day were firm favourites. Staff pleasant and helpful.

Absolutely delicious food!! Drink was great staff were brilliant and hygiene was bang on! Can't wait to come back without the kids to sample more of the great menu.

We had driven by this pub a couple of times recently & thought it looked like it would good and we weren't disappointed. The staff were welcoming and for anyone worried about Covid they had tables well spaced apart but retaining a friendly atmosphere. The menu was wide ranging but we just wanted a simple lunch so chose the cheese burger. It was very good. Ample with a good amount of lovely chips & salad. Well presented. We are planning a return visit to sample some more of the menu.

Staff were reasonably friendly, however when asked what lagers they had the waitress said she doesn't know she doesn't really pay attention to any of that. Asked for my burger very well done, and everybody else's looked far more well done than mine unfortunately. Camambert starter was absolutely delicious and the sides were as well, £120 for 4 of us with starters, sides, mains and drinks so not too bad! Lovely little place, and have had amazing food here before just maybe an off day.

So I've been here 3 times now, the first just for a drink and some chips. And I was amazed by the chips, seasoned to perfection, they were great.I then came back with my partner for a proper meal and got the D & G burger and oh my the burger was also cooked amazingly! The whole meal was fantastic.We came again a few weeks later and again I really enjoyed the food. The service was great from the older staff, the gentleman whom assisted us was really lovely and polite. The younger kids who served us were awkward as hell bless them but they're young so you can let that slide.Overall I really like the establishment, it's really lovely inside, the prices aren't too bad and the food is really good!

Great food, good atmosphere and welcoming staff. I had the jalapeño burger.. It was massive (see photo). Good selection of beers. Highly recommended but can get busy at weekends so probably worth while booking. But nice and quiet during the week.

Enjoyed a nice meal here. The food was very good, I really enjoyed my lasagne, although the chips were not great. Service was very good and the meal arrived promptly (within 15 minutes).
