Rather unfriendly service at the till, but very nice fish & chips

Not great honestly. Quite soggy and greasy and not very tasty. I'd say you're better off going further afeild. Definitely let's Bedale down as it's a pity considering the standard of most of the other restaurants and takeaways in the area.

Worst Fish n Chips I've ever had. Got there about 5ish and would have expected to have had some fresh cooked fish. Nope, was in and out in 5 minutes, everything was pre cooker and soggy. Got back home and the fish collapsed into a greasy mess. Stone cold and horrible. Chips were ok but again, cold. If this is the standard of chippy in Bedale, then I feel sorry for the residents

Not impressed, maybe we were late in the day (1805), but the fish and chips had been sitting in the warmer for a while I think. Unlike our Pickering chippy that only cooks to order , yes you wait for 10 mins, but worth it

The most disgusting fish and chips I've had since the last time here over a year ago!! Soggy batter grey fish and cold chips. My stomach has been up set all day. Total expensive rubbish!!

My son and I visited the beautifully clean cafe area today. We were greeted by cheerful and friendly staff. My son is severly autistic and the lovely lady couldnt do enough to accommodate us.We had delicious, freshly cooked fish and chips, quite possibly the best and freshest fish I have ever tasted.Their kindness, high standard of cleanliness and scrumptious food makes it easy for me to highly recommend Halls Fish & Chips!Fantastic...👍

We went when it was opening at 5pm expecting to have fresh cooked fish. And we didn't even have to wait 5 minutes for our order (2 fish & chips, 2 battered sausage and chips) got home to the horror of soggy batter on both fish and sausages and chips stale as out. Paid over £16 for horrible food. My Cats wouldn't even eat the fish. Won't be going back again.

Proper British chippie - delicious fish, crispy batter, lovely chips. All served by friendly staff and at a decent price. I would never hesitate to stop by for a sneaky bite to eat, when I'm in Bedale.
