Jaipur Spice in Hambleton

Arrived a little after opening time was quite an awkward atmosphere as it felt like they were still setting up and no music so was silent. Staff and service was great. One of our drinks had a black thing floating in it but was quickly resolved. Food was tasty apart from the clearly microwaved rice not what we expected when we ordered pilau. Apart from that lovely meal out.

Grissly lamb aside, the food was quite tasty. Unfortunately the service was both dilatory and bizarrely rude! Some of the waiting staff appear to have a poor grasp of their raison d’etre! Other staff seem intent in both shocking their customers and ripping them off. As others have suggested here before me, do check your bill carefully!I’ve never been asked to make a bank transfer from a dining table before but they’d otherwise only take cash — we wondered whether HMRC were aware of these unconventional practices!Fortunately there are a number of excellent establishments in Thirsk, and in particular Bengal Kitchen and Grand India. I’d also highly recommend Racha, a superb Thai restaurant, where both the service and food are wonderful!

Great food, staff friendly and attentive,priced well. Very varied menu with good description of dishes .

Check your bill!The food was, ok, not great, not bad.Service was ok, a bit slow, but the staff are pleasant.When it came to the bill, we decided not to just split the bill but to all just pay for what we had. There were 8 of us. The manager didn't seem to happy that we wanted to do it that way and we soon found out why. We had been over charged by about £40.I won't be returning nor will I be recommending this place.

Excellent food, incredible value, staff and especially manager is lovely. Would definitely go again.

If visiting Thirsk and enjoy Indian food then include here on your itinerary. We tried four main dishes all quality, the Chicken Jaipur attaining first position in my opinion. Fully recommended on the strength of this first visit. 👍

We visited on a busy Saturday night,the staff were friendly,the extensive menu was impressive. The food was of s high standard and very enjoyable. We will return.

Good poppadoms, then a very average onion bhaji followed by an excellent duck curry. Good service apart from the fact that one waiter expected me take a red-hot plate from him to put on the table. Other than that can highly recommend this place.

Freshly made dishes and for me, home cooked style food. Service was very good and no pressure to buy more drinks of leave. The restaurant was very clean and parking easy.

Food absolutely beautiful first time but will definitely go again if you like this kind of food you should try it each dish has it's own unique flavour lovely staff and service very good giving you time to digest one course before the next
