Katch in Hambleton

Nice hotel, friendly staff and good reasonably priced food. Lost a star for noise levels as situated near a nught club and our room was directly above a public footpath with lots of noisy pedestrians and a coiple of fights.

Great place in Northallerton we went in mid afternoon and were amazed that the place was nearly empty. Spacious, clean with a separate dining room, friendly helpful staff, good access for disabled. Should be doing a lot more to get people in! Will be visiting again for sure.

Over priced.. £5.40 for a draught beerOrdered 2 fish & 1 chips to share to eat inManager would only take £1 off the bill instead of the full price of a portion of chips.I queried it & was basically told take it or don'tWe will not be going back

Four of us each had a different main course; lemon sole, sea trout, seafood linguine and seafood curry and we all agreed that each of them was delicious and well priced. Would definitely return if we were in the area.

After getting the takeaway fish and chips from katch, we got home and I opened the box to disappointment. There were exactly 31 chips (most quite small) inside the box, some chips uncooked. Fish was skinny. The sides of curry sauce and mushy peas were poor aswell with there being barely any flavour whatsoever to the curry sauce and the mushy peas having a slight pea flavour. Worst chippy I've ever been to. Looks good on the outside but the food doesn't match. Will not recommend.

Myself and my wife have been dining at Katch for years every Wednesday and sometimes Saturdays .Approx two weeks ago we lunched there and both had fish coconut curry .My wife hates prawns so she gave me hers and the meal tasted great.However within an hour I was nauseous and after reaching home was I’ll in bed till the next morning with sickness and accompanying distress.The only difference in what we ate was the prawns.We have eaten there for years and things can go wrong in a kitchen which I was prepared to accept.But what I did not like was the fact I e mailed them ,no reply the rang twice ,to which a lady said she would let the manager know and he would ring me back,I suspect she was the manager.I accepted mycondition and did not want to make a fuss,just make them aware of what had happened.Sad to say we will not be eating there again.

The room was nice but unfortunately it was right over the door for the bar below so we were kept awake for a good few hours until the early hours of the morning by cackling drunk women and the noise of the boy racers constantly going up and down through the traffic lights. Not a very pleasant experience. Also we had to get up and walk up the street to get our breakfast in a different hotel which we were not made aware of when booking.

We had fish and chips and it was good. I would have liked garden peas with it but they don't do them. Very pleasant 60s music playing and the staff are welcoming and friendly.

I went in there for fish and chips with my wife. The staff was really nice. The presentation was awesome. The taste was out of this world. I felt like a kid that has eaten fish and chips for the first time.To top it all was their Tarta sauce. It was magnificent, out of this world. I had to request another plate of sauce for my food. The best tarta sauce I have ever had. 😋

Well what can I say, we book here as a holiday we should have had was cancelled due to our tow car been written off.We stayed Thursday, Friday and Saturday night was a good call, staff were really friendly, the boss was lovely.We had a terrific meal in the restaurant on the Thursday night. Surroundings lovely decor, food was delicious and we were pleased we chose to stay here. Thursday night we slept like logs, the Friday was noisy because of the young farmers having a whale of a time, but the boss had warned us.We'll hopefully have a better night tonight, the bed in room 2 is massive and comfy. The room was lovely.All in all can't wait to come back.Thanks for a great stay.
