Saffron Spice in Hambleton

I'm always a bit sceptical about curry houses given that I have a nut allergy and some places have been utter rubbish when it comes to helping. Saffron Spice though went the extra mile.Rang them up to enquire, and the guy at the end of the phone showed full understanding and respect from the word go. He sorted me out a dish, and I was able to enjoy my meal at home without any problems.This has now become my local curry takeaway. If you have an allergy or intolerance, give them a ring - they're bloody awesome.

Disappointing Service - Attention To Detail:Although we have been loyal (but clearly not valued) clients of Saffron for around 3-4 years. Food quality is good - but too often penny-pinching occurs with things like pickle trays/sauces for poppadoms. These things cost pence and containers have been reduced in size and never over-generous- on several occasions I have to remind them that we are owed a pot of yoghurt sauce. Ordered tonight and pickle tray was totally omitted. When I queried this (after returning home) - Saffron insinuated that it was my responsibility to check the bill. I never check the bill and do not expect to check what is actually in the bag/order. Disappointed- will not return. Taken for granted too often.

Excellent food and service and the cheapeast yet so far.. chef top quality as well as the rest of the saffron team.. top people

Been looking for a good apna style takeaway and this definitely hit the spot! Service and food 10/10 so i'll be making this my regular takeout spot for sure :)

Just finished our second takeaway and won't be the last. We are vegetarian and you feel they put as much effort into these dishes as the meat ones. Sometimes Curry's can all taste a bit the same but every dish from here tastes unique with good quality ingredients. Really really tasty stuff. Looking forward to our next order already.

Lived in York two years, tried a few different Indians and luckily the one that's a two minute walk away happens to be my favourite! We don't order from anywhere else now, food is excellent, always boiling hot when we receive it. Good value too as you get loads.

Very good Curry and Biryani. The lamb was perfectly tender juicy and spicy. Highly recommend. Free poppadoms and an extra discount was added. Good value. Make sure you bring cash as card is not accepted in store.

Had the Special mixed kebab on nann tonight and the food was outstanding by far the best kebab I have eaten in a long time, the mint sauce is to die for.Can't wait to explore more of the menu, my new favourite Indian in York and worth the travel from Stockton on the forest 😋 delicious

Great to have the Saffron Spice team back doing what they do best - serving up The Best Indian food. No other Indian comes close (imo)! Such a great team who are very accommodating. Always great specials to try on the menu and all reasonably priced. Give it a try!!

Recommended by a friend so gave it a go. I had the garlic king prawn balti and wife had a tandori mixed grill type dish . They were both amazing and on time (few mins early). Without doubt the best Indian takeaway Ive ever had in York by a long way.
