Suggitt's Ices in Hambleton

A gem of a traditional sweet shop and their homemade icecream is delicious and good value for money

Staff are very friendly in here and you can get sweets that you don't tend to find anywhere else.

The Suggitts team are fantastic. They looked after us on the most stormy day so far in December. As the wind howled and the rain poured we drank tea and eat a ham bun. What a place and what great people. Thank you

Beautiful tasting ice cream. If you are ever in Great Ayton you must pop in and have a sit down or one to go.

I haven't been here since I was a child and it was totally unchanged except the cafe was closed. The sweet shop and the taste of the ice cream was just as I remembered. We sat near the waterfall opposite the shop in the shade. The staff were friendly and patient despite the queue. It was a lovely trip down memory lane.

Suggitts ice cream shop is a great Ayton legend , I remember as a little lad when the ice cream would come around with the familiar music playing , the shop is like going back to another time with jars of every kind of sweets you can imagine ,the ice cream itself is made in the village and as fresh as it gets , in the holidays and at weekends the queue goes right along the high street

I remember in my early childhood, going back 25 years ago now. Their Ice Cream used to be amazing, you could get sprinkles, flakes, raspberry sauce and other things I can't remember. Now...all you can get is a flake.The Ice Cream is good but these days it doesn't warrant a visit all the way to Great Ayton for something you can get different varieties of from a tub of Carte Dor.What a shame they have let this icon be remembered only in the childhood minds of us old enough to remember it.
