Taste of India in Hambleton

Lovely Family Run restaurant. They cater not only for the beginner pallet that want to build up their spice tolerance they also cater for the season curry veteran. For the more adventurous they even offer a real Bangladeshi option of curries that are full of flavour and spice which are all served with a smile. I look forward to my next experience here.

The food was absolutely delicious, it was only let down a little by the hour long wait we had for the takeaway. Judging by others we will probably order by phone next time and then go in, as all other takeaway orders seem to have done.Having said that, when we ate the food it was really good and we will definitely be back.

One table was in after us and out before us - I assume regulars are treated with preference or preordering was going on. - Otherwise a good selection, and big naans.

Amazing food. Amazing service. Trust me you won't be disappointed

When we ordered our food (Takeaway) we were told it would be a 50 minute wait. We went away and came back after fifty minutes expecting our food to be ready. We then had to wait another 40 minutes, all the time watching people come and go with their food. We asked if we had been forgotten and the staff member behind the desk just said no, it would be two minutes, but offered no explanation, neither did he go and find out where our food was. When we were eventually given our food, there was no explanation or apology. Although the food was good, our whole experience was ruined by the poor service.

Very attentive restauranteurs who never fail to make you feel at home. Have used these for the last three years and the standard of food and customer service has always been consistent throughout. Definitely recommend to anyone new to the area looking for an eat in / takeaway.

Great place, large portions... The naans are so nice!!!

Ordered for collection at 19:40 and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. Since I was 20 minutes away from the restaurant, I was expecting it to be ready when I arrived. Got there just before 8pm and was told “it’ll be a few minutes”. Didn’t receive my order until 10 past 9!! The staff just kept saying “it’ll be 5 minutes” constantly whilst I was sat there watching other people come and collect their orders! Communication was so poor, just wanted them to tell me how long it would actually take so I could have gone for a drink and not just sat there! It seemed obvious looking around that there was no leadership in the staff. Upon finally getting my order, I didn’t even get an apology. Awful. The food was okay, but the service was absolutely shocking.

This place came highly recommended by the locals and it didn’t disappoint. We arrived late on a Saturday night and they were able to find a table for us. Everything was great - The poppadoms were fresh and crunchy - the curries were flavoursome. Most importantly the beer was served ice cold! Staff were attentive, friendly and fast! Also, we really liked the unusual decor! The ceiling features a sort of upside down garden - it’s really quite extraordinary and bold. Great original touch!!

Amazing indian food! The butter chicken was great! The naan bread was delicious. Overall a great experience, great for sharing with outstanding service and kind staff!Would recommend!
