The Aldwark Arms in Hambleton

Aldwark Arms was spectacular in every way! We did gin drinks, starters, mussels, steak and salads. My gosh!! Food was superior…chef quality and excellent presentation, friendly first rate service and a surprise…a great value! Easily expected to pay twice the final bill tally. Treat yourself…dine HERE.

The most amazing Wedding breakfast, huge thank you to Jim and the team at Aldwark arms.Following a recommendation we contacted Jim to cater for our Wedding. He was amazing all the way through, filling us with confidence that he would deliver exactly what we wanted. Jim went above and beyond with the presentation all of the canopies were excellent (all of which were homemade) and they tasted amazing! We had traditional roast beef which was absolutely delicious, full of flavour and again excellent presentation. Jim finished off with an outstanding desert table, his knowledge and experience shone through when planning our special day (which was very much appreciated) All of the waiting staff were professional throughout the day and delivered to a high standard. We couldn’t have wished for anything more than the service that we had. We would highly recommend using Jim and The Aldwark arms for outside catering. Visited for the first time on a sunny Saturday evening for a meal with a table booked in the Udder room. Pleasant welcome, table as described and ready for us. The pub was busy but we had excellent, attentive service and at no point were we neglected. Food was of a good standard, fairly priced - we had two courses, feeling we couldn't do a third justice. Happy to recommend and advise prior booking.

Good food from a wide ranging menu at good prices. The service was friendly and they were thoughtful enough to inform us that there would be a slight delay with the food. Nice local pub atmosphere. One bit of constructive criticism - the dessert sponges were a little heavy and merengue a little hard. Having said that I’d certainly go again! 👍

Went on Friday and Saturday evening 2 weeks ago and it was excellent. My wife's swordfish and venison meals were amazing. Staff were so friendly.

Best meal Iv had out for a fair while. Lovely staff. My steak was cooked to perfection. Was staying at the aldwark manor and considering I payed double for a meal in there. Wish I had ate in this hidden gem. You won’t be disappointed …..

A lovely evening at The Aldwark Arms catching up with friends, and enjoying some very tasty food.Mine was this venison dish, which certainly didn't dissapoint.Well worth being aware if you approach the pub from the west through Great Ouseburn, then you have to cross the toll bridge which is 40p - and they only accept cash!

Treated myself to lunch here yesterday and it did not disappoint! Really helpful staff, lovely setting and delicious pub food. I had the halloumi wrap and chips and it was fantastic. I will definitely back, everyone I mention it to raves about the Chicken Kiev! :)

We went for Sunday lunch today with my in laws, and we were served by the lovely Liberty.Gin was super tasty, the Sunday roasts were very sizeable for the money and deliciousMy husband and myself also had puddings- the butterscotch pudding and the shirtsleeve Roly poly, and both thoroughly enjoyed themThe staff were attentive, the pub is beautiful and cosy, and they even had some toys for the baby to play with.Cannot recommend enough!
