Where is The Fauconberg Arms Restaurant?

🏠 Thirsk Bank, Coxwold YO61 4AD

"A proper Yorkshire pub, serving great honest wholesome food, fine wines and spirits and real hand pulled ales. Our food is served both in the bar or snug and restaurant every lunch and evening. We are recognised as one of Yorkshire's best traditional village Inns, with flagstone floors, wooden beams and cosy log fires make for an ideal backdrop to enjoy a fabulous meal, a relaxed evening in the pub, or the perfect B&B break."

Twice in one weekend we’ve been turned down a sandwich in the bar area - which wasn’t busy.I can appreciate being turned down for a sit-down meal when we hadn’t booked, but a drink and a sandwich for two takes little effort and would have been appreciated after a long walk. This has never been a problem previously.A shame, as we’re local and have previously had really good experiences here. They also serve really good local ales.

Table booked for 1 o'clock, food arrived 2 o'clock, no communication from unfriendly staff. 'Seasonal Veg' a tiny portion of over cooked cabbage and broccoli. Too busy for kitchen to cope, would be better to take fewer bookings.

Spent an evening in here a few weeks ago and had a really pleasant time.Food was very enjoyable, as was the range of drinks. Obviously a place used by many locals but not in a way that makes visitors excluded and that's always a sign of a good pub in my eyes. Would definitely pop in if I am around that way again.

We went for a meal last night and it was by far the best meal we have had in a long time, we’ve been so disappointed lately when eating out but this place certainly didn’t disappoint, Generous portions, friendly staff and lovely environment and location. Will certainly return

Lovely Sunday lunch, also catered for gluten free no problem. Relaxed atmosphere with lots of different rooms and candles in the tables. Great service and welcoming atmosphere, will definitely go again!

Stayed here for a night when we were booked into the nearby Black Swan. It's a lovely pub, the staff and owners made us very welcome, and the room and breakfast were excellent. Look forward to returning with our dog next time and sampling their menu which looked excellent.

Very nice country pub, good choice of lagers , beers , very nice food , log burning fire for those cold winter days/nights well worth a visit. Has a few rooms for staying over as well but we didn't stay as we was booked in at a B n B down the road.

What a lovely place very cosy and clean and nice pleasant staff , very limited menu though which is common for the pubs / restaurants in the area , wife had the liver which came with mashed potato and gravy but no veg prices reasonable, wine by the glass very expensive. Will visit again .

We booked this as a passing through night away whilst visiting family for Christmas. Straight away we felt so welcome by the staff and the locals that we decided to book an extra night. The room was lovely clean and modern with all the essentials needed. The food is delicious and loved the sea food platter. The best thing about this lovely Inn is the staff who all engage and go out of there way for you. It's so nice to find a place with such a happy and accommodating team. We can't wait to visit again :)
