The Sidings Hotel & Restaurant in Hambleton

Absolutely awesome!!Friendly staff, great food and an awesome view of the railway. I stopped in the Flying Scotsman room, lovely double room with ensuite and with private balcony view onto the railway. The restaurant was top notch with tasty food. I would definitely recommend a stay here, I will certainly be coming back!!

Stopped overnight for the Greek night. Superb food. Lovely dining carriage for breakfast. Room was small (orient express) as was to be expected. Only one hook to hang anything Shower was nice and hot. Larger was pricey my local is £2.50 as opposed to £4.50 /pint. Trains go by quite often. All told it was a good experience.

Amazing unusual place to stay. Stayed in the family carriage, and was blown away. So much more amazing than I expected. The hosts were so welcoming, an were all the staff that worked there. Food was unbelievable. Amazing quality. The trains going past was a lovely site to. Thought it would mess with my sleep but it really didnt. There were15 of us and everytime a train went past we all went weirdly excited and shouted 'train'. Was fab. My son missed out on coming with us, he is 6 so have decided to come back again so he can have a little train experience.

We were Not really sure what to expect however it was so much more than I could have imagined. Exceptionally friendly staff and customers, superb accommodation and then to top it all, a great,tasty and reasonably priced meal! The Royal Suite room was a very good size, the rooms were warm and the quilt accommodation made The stay so much more than a standard hotel would have.

This place is amazingFrom the moment we arrived for our 2 night stay we were enthralled with all the train memorabiliaWe stayed in the silver jubilee suite and had a side on view of the train line, what a great placeThe weekend we stayed was wet stormy and snowy, imagine in the summer sat out it would be even better.The food was excellent, had full English breakfast, a lunch and a dinner all the food was great, what made the stay exceptional was the staff, they made us feel looked after from the moment we arrived, thankyou to John and Sid and all of you for a wonderful stay, THANKYOU

Excellent food both breakfast and evening meal. Room was cozy and very clean. Very quirky staying in a retired railway carriage! The staff are all lovely and very helpful. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay here. Great Central heating system meant we were toasty even in the middle of November. Park and ride is only a 5 minute car journey away and takes all the stress out of visiting York centre.

A beautiful quaint place. Staff are so friendly and most understanding of our last minute changes. Plenty of interaction between John & the chef. Your food is the best i have tasted. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff herePlenty of understanding when i accidentally set the smoke alarm off at one in the morning 😂😂 walk of shame at breakfast the next day. This place is fantastic! However if you don't like trains, or the noise of trains, think carefully if you intend to stay over, after all you are right next to the 'East Coast Mainline' from York to the North, and the trains run 24hrs. The staff, the food, the ambience and the overall feel of 'The Sidings' is amazing. I have never met such friendly, passionate and wonderful people before. You can tell they really love this place. I opted to stay for 2 nights, but I enjoyed the experience so much I extended it to 3 nights. These guys really do go out of their way to make you feel welcome and valued. Cannot recommend 'The Sidings' highly enough. Will definitely be rebooking in the future, possibly for longer.

Superb food and the staff are super friendly. Went for a meal but also had a chance to look around the accomodation and would love to go back and stay for a weekend.The attention to detail in the carriages makes the whole experience. Highly recommend a visit.
