Woody's at the Black Swan in Hambleton

The tasting menu was amazing but it's not cheap. The staff are lovely they couldn't do enough to make you feel welcome. The drinks are very good,they are from all over the world. I am not surprised this is a Michelin star restaurant.

The food was superb, better than certain 3 star establishments. They get a bit carried away with the wine pairing prices. And drinks prices to be honest. But you can find good wine at decent restaurant prices on the list. We found the service a perfect mix of friendly, enthusiastic yet professional. The breakfast was perfect, (again much better than certain 3 star establishments. One comment for the owners, if you only have the loft apartment left, warn your potential guests that it may not be suitable for the older or less mobile.

Wonderful experience and excellent service.The attention to detail is superb, staff very friendly and accommodating.The menu had some elements which we were unsure of; however there was no need to worry as everything was delicious. Thank you.

Fabulous dining experience!Excellent service from the young and knowledgeable team, and a lovely pace to the dishes coming to the table. Each course was fully explained, beautifully presented and tasted superb, and all in a lovely relaxed atmosphere.We’ve had several tasting menus at top restaurants and The Black Swan tasting menu is one of the best.

I have tried quite a few tasting menu's and I have to say this has been the best one yet!! The wine pairing was also great and we were lucky enough to try some really nice rare and vintage wines! Great place and lovely location!! Hope to visit again

Friendly and welcoming knowledgeable staff. Warm comfortable extremely clean accommadation, lots if hot water. Tasting menu superb, as was the wine flight, although I chose a bottle of red, a real birthday treat.

A really fantastic experience.We were expertly guided through a varied and interesting tasting menu which showcased some great British ingredients. To partner this, we also enjoyed a range of brilliant, rare wines from a well curated list.The setting was warm, informal and very comfortable. The overnight room was well appointed, whilst the breakfast the next morning lived up to the standards of the previous night's dinnerI cannot praise the restaurant strongly enough.

Very much enjoyed our dining experience at The Black Swan. Tasting menu was excellent as expected. Would have given it 5 stars if the accommodation had matched the dining experience. Problems with water supply meant bathing and showering difficult compounded by a faulty plug meaning bath couldn’t be used. Given the significant cost of a room it was a dent in what was otherwise an enjoyable visit.

Michelin grub, working man pub music. Exquisite food, billboard charts. The food and the audible ambiance need to meet on eye level to do the excellent food justice. Just a taster of the music: oasis, Robby Williams, Karaoke classics... Very bizarre.... Paired with the stunning food seen on these photos.. how about some jazz, something less chart-y, something more instrumental, less vocals. We've got playlists we're happy to share 🙏

Fabulous meal and stay at The Black Swan. Very welcoming on arrival, and was shown to a lovely room with a view of the garden and hills beyond. The meal was fantastic - everything we expected and more, from the excellent cocktails and canapes to the amazing desserts. Every course was an explosion of flavour, and of the highest quality. The breakfast the following morning was also excellent. That star is well deserved!
