Gorgeous as always! I had the Swiss breakfast routine and a mocha which were delicious! Staff were 10/10 and so attentive

Wherever we go to get into Betty’s there is always a queue. There’s a reason why it’s so popular. It’s so good. The service is excellent and the taste and quality of every dish I’ve ever tried does not disappoint.Yes you pay for this excellence, but worn every penny.

Overpriced and extremely disappointing. We bought four cakes for the children and ourselves this afternoon to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. When we got them home, we realised that two out of the four were inedible. The bumble bee cupcake was stale and rock hard; the cream in the chocolate éclair was on the turn.Tried to call to speak to a manager but the recorded message explained that customer services are closed today.Incredibly frustrating outcome to what should have been a really special afternoon tea....

It's Betty's, but in a beautiful garden. Stop reading reviews and get yourself down to this Yorkshire institution, I'm sure you've earnt your cake mate!

We visited on a Friday morning, we had to wait a while for a table but it was 100% worth it! The staff are excellent and the food is so tasty. We ate from the breakfast menu and it was wonderful. Wasn’t rushed and enjoyed our brunch. Bought fat rascals to take home which warmed up lovely in the oven the next day. Highly recommend Bettys!

Went with my parents as a treat, was busy and there was a small wait for a table. However the staff were attentive, excellent service was given in a really nice location with a fabulous view. The food was lovely, I had the haddock and prawn rosti with a breadcrumb topping and it was very tasty. Also the stem ginger cake is definitely worth it! Thank you to the staff for making it a nice experience alongside the fab food.

The vegan afternoon tea left much to be desired, especially for the price (~£25) and compared to the main dishes on offer. The sandwiches were underwhelming and lacked thought. The dessert tier was also underwhelming, with one being a yoghurt and coulis pot. However the mushroom and chestnut lattice (~£15) was very nice, with a lovely pesto dip and an interesting cabbage side. The view was nice and staff were attentive, although taking orders felt a bit rushed given the size of the menu.It would be nice to see the same amount of effort and creativity being put into the vegan afternoon tea as we saw in the mushroom lattice. Hope to see improvements soon!(One cucumber sandwich already eaten in the photo!)

Always a wonderful experience at Betty's. First time visiting this location, queued for about 50 minutes which went by quickly surrounded by lovely gardens. Unfortunately we were seated next to a table with extremely bad behaved kids, our waitress allowed us to move and seated us outside with a lovely view. The warm Fat Rascal is a must, coffee is always absolutely delicious and the Caesar Salad is wonderful. A waitress came round asking if we wanted anything from the shop, she packaged it beautifully and we paid at the table.

It’s been a number of years since we’ve been to Betty’s at Harlow Carr! So we decided to make a change; rather than go to the York cafe (which we go frequently!), we’d come here instead!Once we parked in the car park, we made our way to a friendly lady who directed us to the queue to the entrance. She mentioned it would be 15 minutes wait. It didn’t bother us as the view of the gardens were beautiful!Once we got a table, we sat in awe of the view! It was by the window which had a beautiful view! We were greeted by a friendly waitress who took our drinks order. We perused the menu in the meantime! Normally, we have afternoon tea but we wanted to try the other dishes. The waitress came with our drinks and then took our lunch order! It didn’t take long before the food came. It was well presented and delicious. We were also given some chutney to compliment the meal!During our time, another waitress came and asked if we wanted to buy anything from the shop. She could take our order to save us queuing. We thought that was a great service and that she would bring us the goodies! We made room for desserts and picked the Brown bread ice cream sundaes! That didn’t disappoint! There were chunks of brown bread that tasted caramelised. The toffee sauce was delicious as were the pecans! The whipped cream was very light! We were full by then!!I would definitely recommend a trip here for breakfast/brunch/lunch/afternoon tea. You won’t be disappointed. The staff are friendly and efficient; and the atmosphere is perfect! Tables were safely spaced and we didn’t feel rushed!!
