Dower House Hotel Restaurant in Harrogate

We had a lovely stay here for 2 nights at the end of Feb. The hotel is lovely but possibly needs a bit updating which I believe is taking place around Oct. The food was really good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. ....lovely people! Victor especially! Nice spa to relax. Good location for shops and the river with lovely outdoor cafes to sit and people watch and enjoy the beautiful viaduct and river. The Castle and gardens were interesting and pretty ....a lovely place for a mini break. Would def go again. ... and def stay at The Dower house. Met some lovely friendly people.

Came here with all the family for Boxing Day lunch. Food was lovely and well presented. A bargain at £22 a head. All staff were friendly and helpful and gave service with a smile 🙃 especially Gillian Watson. Only little negative comment is that there was no table service for drinks so we had to keep getting up to go to the bar during our meal and also they had run out of pinot grigio! But all in all an enjoyable occasion. Will definitely be back.

Lovely overnight spa break. Comfortable room; friendly staff who are working exceptionally hard; relaxing spa with an excellent facial treatment; and the food was absolutely spot on...both evening meal and breakfast were excellent!

The wonderful staff makes this hotel a lovely place to stay, all very hard working , well mannered and cheerful. The location is brilliant a few minutes walk into town. We stayed 2 nights in room 24. We were apprehensive after reading some bad reviews but were pleasantly surprised with the room, it was fine, it was quiet at night and lovely and warm with a radiator that you can control yourself. The room was in a good position to walk just down corridor to the left and down steps to pool and spa. The dining room was lovely and the service and food was excellent! Nothing to much trouble. Lovely friendly staff. Excellent location for accessing the various tourist attractions of Knaresborough and the village. Also handy for the train station as only 4minutes walk. We did this to get a train to York that cost £12 for two adults return.The rooms and restaurant were clean and well appointedMost of the food was enjoyable but the bacon and gammon was dry and over cooked. The breakfast menu provided a wide choice of items.

Fantastic. Beautiful venue, great location and excellent staff. Steven especially; he is a great manager who sorted everything out. Lovely food and very dog friendly. We enjoyed a drink in front of a log fire and a breakfast and lunch overlooking a gorgeous court yard. The spa facilities were clean and nice. Would highly recommend.

Thankyou for a fabulous couple of days. Your spa is so lovely. Steam, sauna, swimming pool, jacuzzi, foot spas and hot & (very) cold showers! Perfectly clean & well maintained.Your breakfasts were delicious. It is obvious that the food is of top quality. The staff are lovely & friendly & made us feel comfortable & welcome. Perfect couple of days. We will try your restaurant soon! X

Lovely old Hotel which was extremely comfortable and clean, although a little dated. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. We stayed there for two nights and really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend. Thank you!

Slightly disappointed by the pool asit was small and lots of kids jumping so impossible to swim or relax at the pool. Jacuzzi was not open (was told at 10am that it will open soon as they just refreshed the water, left at 2.30pm and still not open).- The relaxing room is really good and chilling.- the massage was extremely good and would highly recommend it- the staff was very friendly and helpfulI would not book a spa day anymore as i feel I couldn't use it pool or the jacuzzi but will mostly book it treatment again.

Had a wonderful stay, staff very friendly and professional.They went out of their way to cater for me as a vegan, done wonderful job.Room clean and warm.Hotel clean, tidy, well presented and kept gardens.Throughly recommend
