Visited at 8pm, 05/03, table for two.The food was absolutely amazing. Salmon pate starter and 10oz sirloin for me, mussels and Nidderdale trout for my partner.The pate was absolutely superb (actual pieces of salmon in there, too!) And the steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned.The mussels were "the best i've ever had" (and he has them a lot!), and the trout was perfect! Very fairly priced given the quality of food and generous portions!To our shame, we can't remember the names of the two wonderful waiting staff who served us (the fantastic lady and gent working upstairs, where we were seated). We could not fault them. If we had our own restaurant, we'd want them to work in it, they were so good!Absolutely phenomenal. A perfect evening, will always recommend to friends and family!!

We went there on Valentine's Day. Staffs were lovely. We love how the restaurant has got a character like a small French Bristo. The bread was amazing! Our steaks were nice, however my husband was little disappointed with his scallops.They are not queen scallops as it said in the menu but cheap quality ones.

If you like seafood then this is a must. Amazing food, lovely atmosphere with friendly staff who made some very helpful recommendations.

We went to this restaurant after seeing good reviews. We were greeted at the door and led to our prebooked table. I had the mackerel starter from the ala carte menu and my partner had the salmon. Both were excellent. We then had our mains hake and salmon again both were superb. The service was superb and the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend the drum and monkey to anyone. We have just had an absolutely delicious lunch at the drum and monkey. My wife had the Cod and I had the Hake, to finish we had the Chocolate Delice and Fig and Honey cake.The service was also excellent, we can't recommend this restaurant enough.We will most certainly be returning soon.Claire and Michael GrundyClaire and Michael Grundy

First time there and I can only say I am impressed with the seafood quality. Ordered seafood hot bowl and Pig cheeks risotto. Both very well presented and cooked. Friendly and polite staff. Will definitely return soon.

Once again an amazing meal. Great service, great food - The Drum And Monkey never fails to deliver. It's been a few years but so very pleased the standard has remained excellent I had the chowder to start and the fish pie for main - delicious.

Excellent restaurant in Harrogate specialising in seafood. Excellent food and friendly service. Seafood platters have a great selection and for the range you get good value for money.
