FISK Signature in Harrogate

Food was OK… had a Squid Pakoras to start and a Thai Red King Prawn curry for main, no complaints in that department as food was OK.However, slightly let down by the service or ‘lack of’ - myself & my partner have been extremely looking forward to going to FISK for months & it wasn’t what we expected.Initially we ordered 2 glasses of champagne and a bottle of wine, in which the waiter popped 2 glasses down on the table, with no offer to pour the wine at all. It appears that FISK was being run by 3 young and inexperienced individuals (no problem with this, however no senior management in sight in what is a restaurant with such a high reputation). Following this, starters came & went - all good, then mains came and went, run out of the Parmesan fries we ordered and the rice turned up around 5 minutes following the mains. Left a bad taste for both of us.Anyway, regardless we ordered 2 deserts. Sticky toffee pudding & a Chocolate Fondant, the sticky toffee pudding was poor to say the least, it was almost like a supermarket bought pudding with one scoop of ice cream. As for the Chocolate Fondant, it never ever turned up so who knows what that was like… in frustration we proceeded to get the bill and leave.It’s safe to say we will not be returning any time soon and definitely would not recommend.

Really enjoyed the food. However, the service was poor and maybe due to untrained young staff standing around and only deliver food and take empty plates away. No drink service or filling up glasses or sample wine before drinking. Staff need to be trained for these prices as it's not a cheap restaurant.

Really wanted to like this place. Always love seafood and had high hopes. Went on a saturday night with another couple. The issues i have are; the menu was not descriptive in the slightest, telling me its a ' curry etc really didnt let me know what i would be getting, when asking the waiter they weren't confident in what they were telling me. I ordered the Thai fillet of beef salad for starter, waiter asks 'how do you want your beef cooking' i ask for it rare, came well done, still nice, but what was the point asking me. Huge gap between starters and mains. mains came, i'd ordered the singapore crab curry, couldnt taste crab in the slightest the curry flavour was too strong and overpowering for that type of seafood, i ate it but was disappointed with the dish as it was £22 and expected it to taste of crab. Lastly for a restuarant where the bill came to over £200 the toilets are terrible and pretty disgusting. Smelly, dirty and not in fitting with the restuarant, they even had a number code lock on the door (where you have to ask the waiting staff for the number). i felt i'd gone into a cheap cafe toilets. Shame really as had heard good things, but wasnt impressed

Lovely atmosphere, really friendly yet professional staff. Amazing food, freshly cooked. Very good value for the lunch menu deal.

Fantastic food but terrible service. Waited 20 minutes to get an order in for drinks. Kept having to ask for the basics, cutlery, water, etc. The food when we got it was excellent, but the mega slow service spoilt it. Will always wait for the excellent food, but getting the order in in the first place got very boring.

Fantastic set menu, three course meal for 22 pounds. Everything was so fresh and tastey. Absolutely love this place. Will be back

The meal was not up to the standard we've had previously. however the owner has been in touch and explained improvements they are putting in place. Good customer service following feedback.

Probably one of the best meals I have ever had. Different and the most amazing dishes, the service was impeccable. Nathan was extremely helpful. Overall an amazing experience😊

This is the first time we have been to FISK but it certainly won't be the last - we've been missing a trick here. The menu is varied and covers everything- the portions are generous- the staff are very helpful and friendly- but most of all, the food is delicious and first class. We'll be regulars, thank you.

Great little place for a bite to eat. Small plates -very tasty and nicely presented. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Try the snowfish it's amazing!
