Although we regularly visit Harrogate we have never visited this establishment until now and we were certainly not disappointed. We have become tired of the usual afternoon teas on offer in town so decided to try this establishment. The afternoon tea was excellent with a wide choice of slightly different offerings and all of a very high quality, it was great not to have an over kill of cream! We felt the price was very fair for the quality and service. You cannot book a table and on our visit we had a 10 minute wait for a table, outside due to Covid restrictions, but undercover, this certainly wasn't a problem.Staff were extremely friendly and added to the whole positive experience. On leaving we had a quick look around the large shop and were very impressed by the local products on sale. Can highly recommend a visit to this establishment 🙂👍

Visited here today to have a look after daughters recommendation. I just wanted to say how delighted my husband and I were. The produce was beautifully displayed and of course too tempting to resist. Our main impression however was the incredible customer service. We spoke to 3 different ladies who were extremely friendly and professional. We look forward to our next visit even though it is a fair way from home.

Food was average and some cold at best, but the issue was having to personally re-arrange the tables to make a table for 8.... After an awkward conversation with a member of staff who couldn't offer us anything other than "no" or "I don't know" at the outside door to a group of 8 people (3 under 3 years old) when it's 5 degrees outside. Service poor, FoH staff need re-training as to how to deal with situations. Website says "We don't take bookings so please just turn up" Not helpful!

Lovely place to go but not if you're vegetarian or vegan. Says it is vegetarian friendly but when I asked what the special was I was told pork sandwich. I asked what the vegetarian special was and was told there isn't one. Supposed to be about local produce - be a bit inventive then with local fruit & veg & pulses & come up with something a little better than the predictable burger or cheese on toast. Menu lacks imagination or range for a vegetarian. We don't all want burgers. Service was good.

Lovely shop selling local produce & good selection of deli staples. Really sweet and friendly staff too. Cafe definitely worth a visit but prepare to queue! No bookings possible.

Another lovely brunch out.Yes the weather was rubbish today and it was cold outside waiting but so worth the wait. During covid times the ability to wait inside is no longer an option. This has not put me off, to see people out enjoying time with friends and family is so uplifting.Superb service. Extremely tasty food. We made a number of adjustments to our brunch order and this was easily handled and delivered. Finished off with cake for the kids and some Spanish learning. Looking forward to heading back again!

As you would expect, the food is farm-fresh and delicious. It's popular so expect to queue at peak times but it's well worth the wait. My lunch order - roasted aubergine with goats cheese and tomato on sourdough 😋

Met up with fiends for breakfast, didn't have to queue. Shown to a table which looked like it had just been cleaned. Food order taken and tweeked a little which was very easy either waitress. Food not the cheapest, but excellent when arrived, freshly cooked and hot.Trip to shop and excellent selection . Well worth a visit

This is a great shop & cafe. Great selection of local produce. We also ate a lunch and breakfast in the cafe. Although not the cheapest the food was delicious with great portion sizes so excellent value for money. I will definitely call in here again when next in the area

Think "Waitrose' and you're not far off the mark. This showcase for Yorkshire produce and gifts trades on quality rather than economy and, truth be told, you can find most of the stock cheaper elsewhere, but that's not the point. Fodder is a leisure experience. The shopping is only part of the deal. These days the cafe has moved to a trailer outside but it's perhaps an even more popular destination for that. There is ample parking and local families can meet up for a coffee in the relative safety of the outdoors, while the kids enjoy the play equipment and giant model farm animals. There's country walking in the woods and fields nearby and a chance to talk canine matters with the other dog walkers who drop by. In happier times the indoor cafe was famous for genteel and sophisticated brunches and lunches in classy surroundings. Finally, fair play to it, Fodder is your go to for quality local cheeses. Five stars just for that.
