Just had an Amazing experience at How Stean Gorge. I had booked the Dark Skies Experience Canoeing on Scarhouse Reservoir. Unfortunately due to strong winds and high water levels this was cancelled. We did the Via Ferrata instead which was great fun and quite challenging. The two Instructors Connor and Elliott where professional and thorough with their demonstrations, kit fitting, explanations of what to expect, and if at anytime you needed reassurance, to call out. They were both encouraging and reassuring which made the experience exciting and exhilarating. Thank you for a superb evening 😁

Great half term fun with our 9 year old. The standard gorge walk and cave is good value, and was an enjoyable walk with impressive scenery (especially with high water levels!) - our daughter enjoyed spotting fossils in the rocks.Next time we’ll definitely look at some of the other activities too. They look amazing!Nice cafe too with brilliant views, friendly staff and good value and home made food and drinks.

My wife and I attended a Via Ferrata session on Sunday 9th January. We were lucky enough to be the only ones in the group and even luckier that the weather held out. Our instructor was Adam, who was professional, knowledgable and courteous. My wife and I both have a background as instructors in various outdoor activities and were impressed with the session we received. The Via Ferrata was fun and challenging, we would recommend it to anyone

A lovely natural feature that has tastefully been converted into a visitor attraction. Admission to the gorge alone is only £7/adult that I think is good value as that ticket is valid for a whole year of admission. On site there are also loads of adventurous activities for those seeking an adrenaline rush at extra bookable cost. The on site cafe is great, friendly and reasonably priced. Also has a fabulous glass floor allowing you to look right into the gorge from above.Love physical geography and the outdoors? Then this place is a must if visiting The Yorkshire Dales.

Nice walk with 2 caves and a nice stream in a deep ravine. Many other activities can be done by guides here . It has a good camp site and cafe with gift shop

Was a fab afternoon. Abseiling off the bridge (45ft high) then a gorge walk. This included sliding, swimming, dancing!!😁 caving and generally getting wet. Was great. All were exhausted after 3 hours but totally loved it. Also went for a walk in the gorge prior to the Abseil. Would definitely recommend it.

This place was amazing. I am an very basic fitness level mum of a certain age who had to do this activity with her son because her daughter chickened out! myself and wet suits will never meet again, but what a day. Elliott was so patient with me from the abseil to me having to climb on his knee to get out of the pool, the caves were very scary but so glad I did it. I would definitely recommend booking a visit and an activity here if in the area most definitely worth the money. Thank you Elliott.

Really cool place to explore with the kids, ages 6,9,10. Not as big as I thought but still very good, they all enjoyed it and the cafe after was great too, friendly and helpful staff .

Great experience we did the abseil from the bridge into the gorge and then the gorge walking and finished with the cave exit! Amazing when you are down in the gorge and extremely fun with a group of you! Our instructor Elliot added an extra element to the experience with challenges for biggest splash and most gracious slips throughout the experience!
