Mackenzies Yorkshire Smokehouse in Harrogate

Both lunch and the bottomless brunch are fabulous experiences. You can tell the team are passionate about quality artisan produce, both in the shop and in what they serve in the cafe. It's excellent value for money, with warm, Yorkshire service to add to the gorgeous seating area and amazing food. Nothing is too much trouble, and the smoked salmon and bacon are absolutely incredible- as you'd expect from a company who specialise in onsite smoking.

Stopped off here on the way back home from Harrogate. The first time we have been here. It was quite busy and the seats outside were taken due to it being quite warm and sunny. Food was good and the staff were helpful. They seem to be having some staffing issues due to Covid, but the manager was explaining the situation and we left feeling that we had had a good time there. It is quite big inside there is a lovely food court and other areas where you can buy quite novel and interesting little things.

Beautiful shop and tasty food in the cafe. I had a smoked salmon sandwich. It was just so good that I forgot to take a picture of it. Friendly staff.

Great farm shop, lots of fresh food and a wide range of sundries. The cafe is nice and staff are friendly. Some things tend to be on the expensive side.The candle shop is nice and all local.However they only had one chef working on a Saturday and it was very busy. I would recommend for a brunch though.

We are regular customers and my first comments is that the produce is 1st class BUT we have had issues on several occasions when paying at the checkout as the amount charged is more than the cost of the items and each time it is corrected but it happens far too often .Today when collecting our Christmas order once again the bill was incorrect and I challenged the bill and in the end I was given 7 different amounts to pay before being given the correct amount with over £30 being the difference between the highest and lowest figure.The process initially took around 15 minutes before the cashier rang for help but after another ten minutes no one arrived then she rang again before a person arrived after a few more minutes had passed and this cannot be blamed upon this being the festive period as both the shop and car park was less than half full.This person showed no customer care or understanding and was bordering on rude and arrogant therefore I asked to see the manager and her reply was I am the manager, a few minutes later the director of finance arrived who showed a little more understanding but she did not offer to address the issues and her only reply was I will check our processes and if you give me your phone number I will let you know what they are (what ever that means).This has happened far too often , we are regular customers who have over a two hour round trip to visit your shop only to be treated in a rude and uncaring manner.Shopping at Mackenzies should be a pleasant and enjoyable experience today was anything but and not one of the staff that I spoke to cared at all about that.

Really nice food here. Busy at times and the smoked food and products they sell in their shop are really great and tasty. Worth popping in as they also have a room where they make wonderfully fragrant candles. This is all as you walk through the building. The smell is amazing when you go in this room! A nice place to get something special for someone special especially this time of year. Time to treat yourself! Something for everyone. Worth a visit!

After our equine shop we decided to find somewhere to eat.This was the perfect spot for us we were seated in the outside dog friendly area.Dave could not of been more welcoming & looked after us from start to finish the other staff who served us were also polite & more than helpful.The platter was yum & the dessert was just delicious. A great late lunch.Something for everyone on the menu.We will definitely visit again as there is a farm shop & from what I could see from inside when paying the decor looked stunning & plenty of gifts etc to browse through.😋👍

Amazing experience at Mackenzies Farm shop and restaurant today, good choice of products to buy from. But I really would like to rate the restaurant, staff were really polite, good choice of food, we have chosen burgers, one with chicken and another one with beef, both were amazing, juicy and portions were large!!!!Afterward we had an ice cream, which was huge! for the price paid, really good value for money.

Great farmhouse shop and cafe. They do their own smoked bacon and salmon - delicious! Recommend doing a walk along (or around if you've got enough time and are up to it) the nearby reservoir either before or after visiting Mackenzies.
