We have stayed here every January now for the last few years, and the odd July/August for one night. Rob and his colleagues are excellent, as are the rooms and breakfast.

This would have been 5 stars but when we first arrived we were informed that we would no longer be getting breakfast as they had no chef. These things happen and not much of an issue but when you have paid for bed and breakfast and then have to pay again for breakfast elsewhere its just a little bit frustrating. The room itself was very clean and had everything you needed ,was spacious with a comfy bed. The rooms are out of the back of the pub so not to much noise and still got very good WiFi reception. The owner and staff were all very friendly and helpful and the location is ideal right in the centre of town within walking distance of everything to see in knaresborough.We did have a few drinks in the bar and the prices were very reasonable. I would recommend the Old Royal Oak and would stay here again if we returned.

Great pub, the bar lady Diane was very passionate about the beers and awards, great place for real ale drinkers, she is a credit to the Royal oak at Knaresborough

Excellent can't wait for Karaoke to come back 🤞🏼 Noticed a few "KARENS" in the reviews. So funny to read why they received 1 ⭐ their humour is clearly not to everyones taste with their Sarcastic remarks. Hey, its a fun ancient pub bang in town centre. 🍺🥃🥂

Rooms were clean and had everything we needed for the overnight pitstop on our cross country drive. Staff were friendly and overall great value, especially with the complimentary full English breakfast!

Brilliant wee country hotel. Dog friendly. Staff friendly, helpful & lovely. Enjoyed their cooked breakfast. Definitely will stay again, when in area.

A very good pub and bed and breakfast. Rooms comfortable and clean, breakfast excellent and Rob and Shaz cater for food allergies, especially if you warn in advance.I would recommend The Old Royal Oak, also both the pub and B&B are pet friendly.I certainly will return to The Old Royal Oak to use as a base to explore Yorkshire.
