We had lunch today (my birthday). All the staff were friendly,attentive and helpful. We had a lovely table and the food was exceptional. We had a variety of dishes and all were beautifully presented and tasted so fresh and delicious. The staff surprised me with a cake my daughter brought in earlier singing happy birthday and then brought all we needed to cut and have some cake, which was just lovely. We brought our dog too, who was very welcome. It was our first time there and most certainly will not be our last. Thanks to everyone for such an enjoyable experience, well done.

The venue and staff are just so very good.We stayed for one night , with dinner for our wedding anniversary.The room was newly refurbished and tastly done.Our dinner was was more than good,a good choice of menu and good sized portions.Our breakfast was also very good, again a good choice.The staff are also charming and helpful.

We actually called in because we needed the loo after a long drive. Initially decided to just have a drink, but the atmosphere got us and we decided to order. The food didn't disappoint.Excellent food, excellent service.Will definitely call again if we are passing that way

Well, from start to finish this place has been amazing. We selected a room about a week ago for a night away from home and so glad we did.The whole experience has been first class, easily exceeding all our expectations.Thank you

Went for a late Sunday lunch/evening meal.Food was ok but felt that it had been warmed up from the lunch menu and not cooked fresh from order.A nice place, a definite improvement on recent years and no issues with the staff, service etc but I feel I paid a decent price £16 for a warmed up mediocre meal.Will give it another try and order something else next time.

We really enjoyed our night at the Inn South Stainley. The room was beautiful and very comfortable, and the food delicious. The staff were very friendly to us (and to our dog, and helped us to get our D+2 test). We highly recommend it !

Great 2 night stay, lovely relaxed place to stay.. Food was lovely.. Staff and host so nice and helpful. The room was decorated very tasteful and the bath was amazing. Lol. Brilliant.

A wonderful family meal for Sunday lunch. We sat by a cosy fire with lovely decor round us. Dog friendly which was great. They were able to caterer for all 6 of us. Really tasty food and great service. Would highly recommend and will be back again.

I hate leaving bad reviews and do very rarely. Firstly I could not book the room on the website so had to do it over the phone, no problem. The person who answered the phone couldn't hear a word I was saying as the background noise was so loud anyway payment was taken in full for a garden room of £225. Upon checking in the gentleman who checked me in asked for payment again, I explained I had paid in full at the time of booking and he said this was not possible as card details were not taken via online bookings, I explained it was not an online booking but made over the telephone. Non the less he would not give me the keys to my room until I made payment again which I did. The room itself after walking with all my bags across the car park and to the other side of the premises is clean but I was disappointed there was no bath which I did expect for the price paid. When I went to the restaurant for breakfast I could not find anyone in the premises even though I sat and waited for atleast 10 minutes so I ended up leaving my key on the desk and leaving without breakfast. I called later with my statements to prove I had paid for the room twice to which I got told i would be refunded for and nobody saw me at breakfast otherwise I would have been refunded then. (they did have my contact details which nobody tried to ring to give me my refund). I still have not received the refund so a second call I have been I have now been told I have to wait 7 days for my refund. All in all rather an expensive one night stay. I have given 3 stars as what I saw the restaurant looked to be done up nicely. Shame that nothing was offered as goodwill for the inconvenience as I am in the area often needing accommodation but I think on the next occasion I will look for something alternative.
