Swan on the Stray in Harrogate

Very quiet Sunday PM, good beer, knowledgeable and helpful barman. Hadn't previously known of the nice quiet beer garden with a covered area, which was handy because it was wet.

What a great little discovery, if you like garlic in your food there are come cracking items on the menu. Chicken, chorizo and garlic Calzone was awesome. Good sized portions and friendly knowledgable staff, very satisfied.

We have been here 4 weeks in a row. Amazing food and service. The South African Chef goes out of his way to look after you x tailors the food to your taste. Great bar staff team.Genuinely great team work. Would strongly recommend

We called in here after visiting the model shop because the sign said dog friendly, which they are. The service was good and the food was amazing. I ordered falafels and spicy couscous with a side salad. It was one of my best meals ever, so tasty and fresh. A lovely meal. Recommended.

Food used to be good. Homemade pies etc. Now they've got Sky in doing burgers and pizzas. Got two pizzas and chef clearly heavy handed with the cheese... And doesn't clean the pizza oven. Big big shame as it used to be very good

We were a large party who where attending conference in Harrogate. The staff at the Swan had reserved an area of the pub for us which was cosy and comfortable. They even dedicated a member of their staff to take our orders at the table and set up individual bills for each of us to avoid us all lining up at the busy bar. The menu was varied, reasonably priced and the food tasty and good quality . It was an enjoyable evening and I would return.

Great to see this pub doing so well. I always enjoy dropping in for a swift one when there is time for myself. A great place to meet friends for a chat and a bite to eat, take the dog or the kids or even the husband if you must! Food always fab and they have a great selection of Gin as well as beer! One of my favourite places

A visit to Harrogate took us to this lovely place. Very clean. Lovely beers and delicious food. (Bacon chop was fab). Quirky with it's dog friendly atmosphere and dog treats. Extremely clean loos (always a good sign to a good pub). There was a wonderful sparkle to the pub, (not just in a clean sense). The Manager was wonderful and attentive to all people passing threw for one or sitting as a family to dinner. Smiles and laughter and interaction with individuals was extremely welcoming. Definitely recommend this place.

Parking is a bit challenging so be prepared to drive around for a few minutes to find a spot in the surrounding area. Inside is very clean, bright and updated. Modern seating and plenty of space. The bar is well stocked and the food comes out fairly quick. The menu is standard pub fare but there is a "specials" board so check it out when you get there. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. It is worth the visit.

Unfortunately I'm not sure what's happened. The burgers here used to be truly fantastic, and arguably the tastiest I've ever had (a mix of herbs and a wide range of included toppings). They're now bland, dry and have a limited and nonsensical choice of toppings. We came here regularly just for the burgers and the beer, but now only come for the beer.I should add though, the beer selection is fantastic and the service behind the bar is great. I just wish they'd revert the food (particularly the burgers) back to its previous uncontended quality.
