The Black Lion Inn in Harrogate

First time we have been back to the Lamb and Lion (now The Fat Badger).Venue great. Outside lovely and staff excellent. The food has gone from excellent to poor. The salad was a blob of rocket. Bread in fishfinger sandwich awful and the chips were just slimy grease. What a great shame as we used to go before the theatre for food. Awful inedible!!!!!

Great old pub .inside comfy seating very good choice of ales. Very good food. Outside relax in the patio area

Great venue, great food, great staffFirst time here and was not disappointed.Good amount of options on the menu (I thoroughly recommend the ox cheek😋) also a decent wine list and drinks menu.All reasonably priced and with friendly service. Get involved!

Had a great time food was of good quality. Rooms clean well decorated period style. The staff were amazing getting us direction's to our attactions catering for our requests off menu. Being able to leave cases safely at no extra charge made the trip easy . Would definitely recommend.

Reasonable price and average food. We don’t drink wine so we only ordered soft drinks and a bottle of sparkling water, but the waitress was not happy.

The food here is delicious!! Had a wonderful Sunday roast lunch. Had Rice pudding afterwards and it was the best I've ever had! Quick service with beautiful surroundings. Couldn't fault it. Will certainly return.

My wife and I enjoyed a meal at the fat badger on 05.02.22, I had fish and chips, the battered haddock was piping hot and absolutely delicious. My wife had chicken goujons with fries and salad which were really nice and tasty. The waitress really looked after us and the service was excellent.

Starters were good, but no better than a fairly good pub. Steaks were good quality meat but not treated as well as they deserve. Decent selection of wine which is reasonably priced and ok selection of local bitters/ales but only continental lagers. Such a shame.Restaurant has a nice atmosphere and fantastic high ceilings.Overall, ok but could do better with more attention to detail, better notice on service after initial seating and more pride in the quality meat that's been sourced.

Love the igloo, great for a family meal. Warm and cosy. Staff and service excellent with good quality food and great value. Will definitely be a new haunt for us.
