The Castle Inn in Harrogate

Stayed for wedding. Lovely staff. Beautiful food. Really comfy bed and lovely clean bedding but felt rooms were expensive for what you got. Basic tea tray. No biscuits. Fresh milk when asked for but the container leaked. Basic continental breakfast. Should have included cooked for the price. Quite small room. Wardrobe area tight. Spofforth room. The room was clean and that's the most important to us!

Called in while visiting near by historical building. Staff were very polite and helpful. Pot of tea came with some chocolates as a surprise. Clean Bathrooms and very nice interior to the bar. Had a good selection of drinks on tap.

Used as mid point meeting place for lunch with friends. Booked ahead as table of 6. Plenty of spaces in car park. Staff busy setting up for a wedding as we arrived.Airy dining area. Limited choice on menu but all our meals were good. No feeling of being rushed out, even though we sat for over 3 hours, chatting.Friendly staff.

Really enjoyed our stay at the castle inn wish we could of had more then one night. Nice to find a dog friendly hotel. The girls who dealt with us during our stay were lovely. Very helpful and cheerful, nothing seemed to be any trouble.The only negative I do have was that there didn’t seem enough staff on for breakfast as there was a long wait for things to be filled up. So I felt we didn’t get to have the choice of what you would of had if you were down for 8-8:30am.But we will definitely be returning

Nice setting although rather dim lighting to see the menu with, a number of tables using camara lights to read. Music at a good level that allowed conversation.Very limited choices on the menu and even some of these were unavailable, it would have been helpful to have been told this early.Food was very nice, presented well and good portion size.We had a good evening but will not go back due to limited menu.

I have had many lunches, dinners and met clients here but tonight was not a good experience. Certain options were no longer available, the wine order was incorrect, the lamb was raw ( although 2 full meals were replaced - the rest of us had already finished so they were taken home)Although local not sure I would I would go again

Went for a quiet mid week birthday celebration. Certainly the Castle was not quiet, surprised how many people had the same idea. Not the most extensive menu but equally nothing off the menu. We had fish and a also a burger both excellent especially the fish which was grande and all eating! Surprised myself with the sticky toffee pudding which came in a sea of sauce. More please!

I came away with the feeling that we had been overcharged @ £170 for the night. The room was nice, but the breakfast was poor. Charging that kind of money for a village pub with rooms and then just providing a small continental breakfast, when you have a large restaurant? I expected more and we were disappointed.

Busy place when we went as there was also a wedding. This is a dog friendly pub which was great for our dogs. We booked in advance which I would advise if eating on a weekend. Waiter service was slow but delivered in a friendly helpful way. Food was good but pricey. Sirloin steak was £25. I would recommend the pig cheek starter. Gluten free options available. Table lay out meant a bit of a squeeze getting in and out. Popular pub.

Extremely inviting on a cold and stormy winter evening. Decor is clean-cut but cosy and comfortable. Menu is mostly pub standards, well executed (as they’d need to be, being keenly priced); fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding were flawless. Dog friendly. Mention must go to Connor, whose service was warm, friendly and attentive above and beyond the call of duty. People like this put the hospitality in the hospitality industry, and I know that that industry currently wishes there were more of them.
