We stayed 2 nights. One before our civil partnership and on the night of. The first night we ate in the restaurant- it was fantastic and the staff and service excellent. The second we had hired a room and had dinner with our family. The staff were attentive, the food excellent and the whole event went really well supported by the staff. Even breakfast the next morning was delicious and well presented. Couldn’t of asked for more!

We booked 3 rooms for the weekend for our sons and ourselves.I have to tell you that the rooms were spotless, the showers were hot and very powerful. The beds very comfortable. Dinner was excellent and so was the breakfast. Besides being incredible value, I want to say that the staff were polite, helpful and generally fantastic. Well done and thank you again.

Warm welcome and relaxed, happy, efficient staff, very impressive. Very clean and comfortable. Well priced menu with some interesting dishes as well as Sunday roasts. Sufficient parking, not sure about wheelchair access. Very happy to go back

A good place let down by attention to detail; noisy and ineffective bedroom heating system, some sort of ceiling emergency light that flickered all night, anyone with weak or arthritic hands would not be able to open the bathroom door and large - but cold, with no obvious way of warming up - bathroom, with no shelf to place anything. The bed was comfortable, with an excellent duvet; and the staff were pleasant and welcoming. Pleasant lounges with well tended log fires. Dinner menu was uninspiring for the price; our party of 4 were mixed in their reviews of the meal, and felt the menu got lost between haute cuisine and good pub food. Generally the consensus was that we enjoyed our stay, but could not recommend the Tontine to others at the prices charged.

Had Sunday lunch there today. 19122021.Small potions, service very slow, drinks very expensive as it was £7 pounds for a half pint of orange and lemonade and pudding sticky toffee pudding very dry and not sticky at all. Very disappointing experience. And it wasn’t that busy.

It’s a wonderful scenic place for visit, good service, friendly staffI was very disappointed with the Starter.I W as looking forward for the starters whole weekI had scallops for starters. The bowl was too big for the pea sizes 3 pieces of scallops,it was too pricey for that serving.Main meal salmon was wonderful but rice was bit undercooked and mushyDeserts cheesecake was wonderfulI will definitely visit again, hoping they provide better portion of scallops for the price they charge.

Horrible service, never ever I've been to "5*" restaurant with such terrible service. Food wasn't special-nothing what pictures show, missing items and "well done burger" was half cooked. Dissapointed Definitely not reccomend.

Very good. Staff were lovely, helpful and kind with my elderly mother in law. I asked if we could be seated in a bright area and we were. Excellent service, lovely food. Thank you to all of the lovely staff.

Lovely little restaurant. Very hard to find the entrance as Google puts it on the wrong side of a major road and it’s a 6km diversion if you get it wrong! Good wine-list. Staff that care. Well presented and well cooked. Yet it might feel “soulless” to some because of the underground location and decor.

Stopped to charge car. Went in to see if could grab a quick snack. Found a warm welcome and excellent bar meals. Well worth a stop if passing. Even if you don't need to charge your car!
