The Crown Inn in Harrogate

Very chic hotel. The entrance smelled amazing, and the staff very efficient as the check in was done quickly even though there were quite a few people queuing. We didn’t have to wait until the afternoon to get our room and could get the key around noon. The decoration is superb, and the hotel is very clean. The location is central close to everything. We even had a complimentary crown key ring for the Jubilee. I recommend this place

Great location in the town. Historical building which has had a sympathetic update in the public areas. Staff were friendly & attentive. Parking is costly at £12 overnight but was very convenient. Our room had no view other than a whitewashed wall but was clean & spacious. Breakfast was good with lots of choice Overall a very pleasant stay and was good value for money via Travelzoo. We would stay here again.

I'm always apprehensive staying in old building hotels as I've had poor experiences often from them due to negative cleanliness etc, however I'm glad I gave the Crown a go.The building is so beautiful outside and in. The rooms were spotless, albeit old fashioned but that's okay as it has to suit the hotel. But everything had been decorated and it showed.The room was dust free and the bed was comfy. Good facilities, not lacking anything you don't need. Possible improvement could be maybe a smart TV to watch more on.I got the 2 night stay as a steal on travel zoo. This also included 2 free drinks and breakfast.Both the drinks at the bar were nice, as are the staff who serve you. Again in a beautiful room where you can sit and watch the world go by outside.The breakfast was hot and you could just go grab what you want, again in a stunning room.I can't really fault the stay as it was great value for money.Would stay again!

Fantastic location, so close to everything. The breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of everything.Only minor Cons: The water took a while to get warm but it did eventually, so just be a bit patient.Parking is not easy on site, very limited and several spaces had been reserved but there are other options within walking distance.

On the positive: great location and the main rooms where beautiful. The staff and manager were very friendly and helpful.The rest: Not a four star hotel. Very dated rooms. Badly in need of a revamp.Rooms where roasting hot. No air-con and the electronics were shocking, extension lead run from one side of the room to the other. It had been there that long it had been painted over. And finally, the fried breakfast was poor.

I can recommend room 130, a suite....large, comfortable and reasonably priced. Good hearty breakfast, plenty of choice. Evening meal not too pricey, nice menu well cooked, lovely service. Happily stay again. Couldn't use their car park as full, but public parking only two minutes walk away so no problems there. All staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel ideally sited in the centre of town.

We gave one star rating. As the bed was very hard and uncomfortable.We were woken up every morning with glass bottles being tipped into dustbins at 4am till 6am from somewhere downstairs at the rear of the building.Bathroom was not very clean and the bath handle was very loose and dangerous .Breakfast was cold and plates very cold .needed warming to help keep food warm.Not a hotel with 4 stars we would be using again.

Good point are this hotel is in a great location. The bar staff were lovely and the room was clean. Unfortunately the hotel informed us of a beer and music festival only 4 days before our arrival, when it was too late to make other arrangements.The room was really tired, and the bed was up against the wall.There was a step going right across the bathroom and the shaver socket was up really high. In the picture it is on the end of the light just below the ceiling. Considering the room was over £100 for the night and didn't include breakfast, it was very disappointing.

Great hotel overall. Parking can be an issue onsite but there is a council secure one 5minute walk away. £12 for 24 hours, so relatively cheap as well. The first impressions of the hotel are fantastic, outside the building shows its former grandeur. Inside is lovely as well. Although our room, while in keeping with the rest of the building, the decor looked a little "tired". This didn't distract from a lovely stay though. Staff throughout were excellent

Stayed here a few times now and come back regularly. So grateful for a nice place to stay, and an excellent professional staff. But the real winner is the breakfast buffet in the wonderful dining room !
