The Old Deanery is reestablishing itself as a destination for Weddings and other events,it is run by a couple who are completely dedicated, I understand the music sought after Chris White Jazz Trio are among the recommended bands for Wedding Receptions

Had afternoon tea and was lovely. Waiting staff just right, attentive to your needs but not intrusive. Offered more tea which I like but was given hot water with the tea so was ample amount. Sandwiches very nice and little quiche was delicious. Scones tasty but quite dense so took some getting through plenty of jam and clotted cream though. Little cakes were lovely but had to get a doggy bag because couldn't manage them all. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

Came for the christmas party with my work colleagues and had an amazing night! High class venue and event with a friendly and safe atmosphere! Cocktails&Canapes on arrival and a very very nice dinner menu - nothing was too much trouble and they provided everything you could need. Excellent dj who played to his audience and ensured everyone had a wonderful time! Will be back next year!

We had a perfect stay at the Deanery. A lovely welcome on arrival, helped to our room (No 2) which had a divine view out on to the gardens at the back. A good nights sleep in a comfy four poster bed and woken to bird song in the morning. Nice and clean, good bathroom etc everything you could want and a good breakfast too. Its not the height of modernity and that is what makes it nice too - a beautiful setting, friendly people, good food and a great ambience, genuine and welcoming.

Visited here for afternoon tea ( gift bought by friends). Beginning with the greet we were made welcome and felt very comfortable. The sandwiches, cakes, scones and tea were all delicious and extremely well presented. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and will probably repeat early next year.

Excellent hotel and staff. Very picturesque, and directly across the road from the Ripon Cathedral. Extraordinary to be woken in the morning by the bells of a massive medieval church.

No words to describe this amazing place, my wedding was the most amazing day. This was all due to the wonderful staff.

Had a cream tea. Fabulous selection and excellent value. Staff were top notch. Overall a great hour or two on a Sunday afternoon. Take you time and enjoy! 🙂

Stunning views of Ripon Cathedral from some of the rooms. Good food well priced. Friendly and comfirtable.

Lovely setting right next to the cathedral. We stayed in room 8 on the second floor which overlooked the three impressive willow trees in the garden. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There was a wedding reception on the day we stayed so the lounge was off limits. No problem for us as were eating out, but at breakfast most children and a few adults were wearing pyjamas to breakfast, which is not acceptable in my opinion. Our room was small but warm and very clean with a comfy bed. It was also extremely quiet so we had a good night's sleep. This hotel is historic but the decor is of faded elegance and is a little in need of smartening up. For that reason, a little overpriced.
