Nice hotel in a lovely, central location. Room was modern and clean with a decent bed, but bathroom was tiny. Breakfast was good and staff are friendly. The hotel is particularly good for dog owners, with decent grounds for walking and you can have your dog with you in the bar area while you eat breakfast.

There were a couple of maintenance issues with my room which I passed on to reception. Other than that, I had a comfortable night's sleep and a good hearty breakfast. The reception staff were very helpful when I had a problem charging my phone.I enjoyed my stay.

We got married here in June 2022 and the entire day was wonderful. The wedding organiser, Elisha, was really great in the run-up, and the venue staff were laid back and friendly. The wedding package was great value, the food was tasty and everything went smoothly thanks to the experience of the ground staff. We got married outside on the pavilion, and this made it feel extra special, as did the wonderful bridal suite we were given to stay in - my bridesmaids were able to get ready with me in there, as it was so spacious. Thank you Old Swan for making it a day to cherish :)

We went to the Wedding of our nephew and his fiancee. It was held in a room like an Orangery and was prettily decorated. The hot food served at the reception was very good quality and all staff were polite & helpful. The only slight downside was the expensive drinks in the bar.A great day.☺

Quick check in, lift to floor but steps to the room. Small single room, single (but wide) bed. Feels a little dated but good enough for a decent night sleep and a brew in the morning.Had food provided by the hotel for a business meeting over two days - cakes, drinks and lunch - all good quality and tasty.

Was expecting a superb experience but I got a dirty room that due to a huge cap under the front door make me feel like I was sleeping in the hallway. The breakfast was average and they charge you for the parking even if you are a guest. Not satisfied at all given the asking price.

Lovely old hotel with first class helpful and friendly staff. Good value for money. (The only slight downside was that the windows in our room could only be opened about 2 inches, so the room was very hot even when turning down the heating). Would certainly recommend this hotel though and stay here again. Plenty of car parking on site and is by voucher and cost £10.00 overnight via reception.

I had reason to complain about the volume of music being played on Saturday evening when I reasonably expected to be able to get to sleep. I tried to contact reception using the hotel phone which was not working. I therefore rang externally using my own phone. After a couple of minutes this was answered. I asked how long the music would be going on for and was told until 12.30 am. I was asked if I hadn’t been told to expect the music going on which I hadn’t. I was offered a change of room which at 11.50 pm I declined. I was told that reception would be able to offer a partial refund in the morning. When I raised this with reception I was told that there was nobody from management present at that time. I asked that somebody contact me via my mobile the following day which has not happened. I also pointed out the notices in the hotel about travelling to your bedroom as quietly as possible as other guests may be sleeping. Ironic! I also pointed out that there was no hot water from the shower and that the papers I had ordered (both verbally and on the booking in form) were not delivered.

First time at the Old Swan Hotel. This will not be the last. The rooms are very nice. The service was very good. The food was very good. The decor may be a bit tired in places but it does not distract from its elegance. Its very close to the town. I parked my car in the car park and did not use it until I left. Five stars from me.

Arrived for our 2 day stay too early to check in but allowed to use the car park (£10 per night) to enable us to walk into town to kill a bit of time until check in. Cannot understand the recent trend to pay on arrival instead of departure but as it was my husbands birthday did not want to cause a fuss by refusing. The hotel is old world and somewhat dated. The public rooms are very well furnished and well looked after. The dining room is particularly lovely with its part glass ceiling and lush carpet. We only had breakfast there and it was very good. Waitress service for the cooked part and help yourself for cereals and juice etc. Good quality and well cooked. Our room was fairly large but lacked any warmth or welcome. The bed was particularly uncomfortable due to the very soft mattress that offered no support. The room could do with some colour and texture to give it a bit of character.Hotels still seem to be suffering from lack of staff and whilst I can sympathise I have yet to be offered any discount because of it.Should we visit Harrogate again I would consider using this hotel again. Better the devil you know springs to mind.
