The Punch Bowl Inn in Harrogate

Ambience seemed flat and was seated in a corner. Excellent starter for both. Ordered rump steak well done, got bloody. Told staff who just said sorry. Did not stay for pudding as staff did not seem bothered.

Just had late afternoon Sunday lunch. Food fantastic and hosting even better by great manager. Made to feel very welcome and not a problem even though our son and his partner and baby were very late. Looking forward to returning especially in better weather as great outdoor seating area.

Reasonable country pub with a good host. After we had unstuck our forks from the table the food was well cooked and very palatable. But ~£70 for two main courses, a shared dessert and a couple of alcoholic drinks was pushing the envelope for this location.

Went with a couple of friends. She and I had the scallops £15 for 3 tiny scallops. Ridiculous. My partner had a pie, obviously heated up in a microwave. Rock hard pastry. Won’t be going again. Very disappointed. Especially as on previous occasions we thought this was such a special place. The surroundings and service were good , however.

Beautiful pub.. lovely ale..but quite few flaws.. flavour less coke ..cold fries..and very underdone pie..verging on raw.. wasn't golden as on pictures..very disappointed as the filling was beautiful..pale pastry and cold in centre..needed another 25 min in oven. Lovely staff

Little disappointed with our visit today. We have previously been for a Saturday lunch and had a lovely meal. We went for Sunday lunch today and I was surprised that they don't do a children's Sunday dinner - just make a small adults?!? Missing items on the meal had to be asked for, apple sauce was straight out of the fridge so cold which was a shame. Meal was overall nice. We were told they didn't do kids desserts so just asked for a single scoop of ice cream and charged £3.50- we have since found out they have a full children'sdessert menu too. We were planning for go here for a big family Sunday lunch in January but feel like we might try somewhere else.

Nice country pub. Very much an eating place rather than somewhere for a casual drink. Sunday lunch was good although the portion of mushroom Wellington was somewhat meagre (but delicious). A guest cask ale would be good as I don't know anyone (least of all myself) that likes Black Sheep!

Eaten here a few times, its very well located to some good walks and fishing spots.On this occasion, we were a table of 6 + 3 dogs. We all had an amazing 3 course dinner with some splendid local ale. Its just a marvelous place to eat and drink full stop. Look no further if you are in the area.

The Inn oozes stereotypical Yorkshire charm, rich with every element you would wish for in a pub.Just reading the menu gives you the comfort that whatever you choose the food is going to be fantastic, maybe because the menu reads like a best selling novel, maybe I just have a feel for these things.Quality is what makes or breaks an establishment, just looking at the rings that cuddle my pint glass as I sup the well recommended pint of ale, tells me that this place has high standards.Clearly a pub that takes it’s primary function so serious is going to be best suited to serve me a culinary delight too.

The restaurant was nearly full and the staff were still quick and efficient. The food was well-presented, but could have done with more seasoning IMO.
