Well what a treat that was. Lovely staff, very kindly moved us to the lush table in the round window when they heard us admiring it from our nearby table, and then served us this amazing feast. Yum.

The steak and & ale pie was nice, slightly too peppery for my taste, homemade, but doesn't say so on the menu. Plenty of veg on my plate,5 different kinds, which I thought was very good! Some places made a veg an add on.We had to wait awhile, but there is a board saying food is cooked to order,so that's fair enough. Not so keen on the service charge being added to your bill without being told about this. Nice enough place ,had better meals elsewhere and had worse,so it's a typical pub.

Nice and friendly local pub with excellent food, good beer and dog friendly. Table booking is possible. Extensive specials menu, at least when we visited. We enjoyed it for a family dinner and will be back when again in the area.

Fabulous food with lovely daily specials board. Group of five has an amazing circular table in the windows. Great service from lovely staff. Highly recommended

We stayed at The Sawley Arms for a couple of nights recently. It was a thoroughly pleasant stay from start to finish. The room was very nice with loads and loads of mood lighting options. The batthroom had an amazing shower but unfortunately no bath from which you could enjoy the bathroom TV. The breakfast was right up there with the best we have ever had at a B&B (Which is praise indeed from a breakfast connoisseur). We had a meal in the pub one evening the menu was tradtional pub food done to a high standard. The fish pie was loaded with a good variety of fish. All in all a very pleasant place to stay (& deffinately a good value alternative to the famous hotel round the corner). We will be returning.

After reading the reviews we were looking forward to eating here. With the prices indicating a good quality of provision.Arrived in the afternoon and the pub was reasonably busy.No one at the bar and 3 staff in attendance, but still took 15 minutes to order 4 drinks.Food ordering was a similar experience, with the inability of staff to use a card machine. That was the plus side, it went down hill from there. We were charged 10% 'discretionary' tip, without being informed of this. The food was SHOCKING!The 2 chicken parmesans, were bland, flavourless and under seasoned. The chicken was overcooked. The chips were not pleasant, as it was obvious from the taste that the fryer oil needed changing.I had the pork loin with mustard sauce, again the meat was over cooked and the sauce was split, so that there was a nice pool of grease on the plate.A partial refund was eventually given after much discussion, but would not recommend this place as somewhere to eat or drink.

A little gem! Sawley Arms is just outside Pately Bridge and after a long walk it was everything we could have asked for, lovely place, great food and fabulous service! Would definately recomend a visit.

Went to quiz night last night. Brilliant time. The young girl asking the questions had a great sense of humour. The meal was first class as was the bonhomie. Going again.

Had a lovely early evening meal here. Staff very friendly and food delicious. Nice. Soy pub with more than one real fire making it very nice at the end of a cold day. Lots of small rooms with plenty of tables to choose from. It was a Tuesday so quieter than it would be at the weekend I guess. Good sized car park.

Angie and I continued our weekly search for top quality dining in our beloved Yorkshire countryside. Some years ago, I had a less than inspiring meal here BUT ALL THAT HAS CHANGED: delighted to say we enjoyed superb food today, prepared by chef Damian. Angie's steak was perfectly cooked and delicious; my steak pie was quite marvellous. Desserts are excessively luxurious! Just fabulous, we chose the crumble, which was clearly made with pure butter, accompanied by a proper creme Anglaise. A wonderful lunch and we will be back soon! Thanks also to the superb and friendly staff.
