Lovely pub very nice beer and food and nice friendly, efficient staff.Very clean and also a very nice outside seating area.Lunch time sandwiches very nice and good portions.Close to Ripon and the Dales.Recently stayed at Cedar Retreats in West Tanfield which is very nice. There are 2 pubs In the village, The Bull and Bruce Arms. The Staveley Arms beats them both hands down.

Food was good but there was an error in my order. The atmosphere is probably better when there's more customers, but we were there mid-week so it felt a little empty. Friendly staff.

Another excellent meal at the Staveley. 8 people (90-26 yrs) and about 12 different dishes over 2 courses, not a hint of a dud amongst them. I will, of course, murder whoever told the staff it was my birthday!

Lovely VenueWent for a Special family Sunday Lunch. The place is amazing loads of space. We were a party of 14 & had a room to ourselves. But there is plenty of other lovely tables & spaces in the venue. The staff were great attentive but not pushy. The food was hot & beautiful cooked with a great variation of plentiful vegetables. The usual choice of beef, pork, lamb & Chicken together with a variety of fish choices. Just had main course delicious & very filling. Good luck if you can manage starter & pudding as well. 5 stars well deserved

Been here twice now once during lockdown. It is convenient to meet up with family coming from different areas of the country. The huge strength is the quality of the food! We had a total of 12 meals here and everyone has been superb.

Last of the springs sun sat outside enjoyed a beer and snacks. Bar staff are very friendly, first impressions, thought it looked to be lot smaller on the inside than the outside the door from the carpark opens into the bar. Which was dark on a sunny day, had a warm feel to it like an old pub. We didn't eat but a fair few did, restaurant seating is quite discreet, you don't have to sit in the bar and you aren't necessarily overlooked by everyone. I bet it would be great for groups, menu board looked interesting with a few local surprises. "Pheasant dippers" got to try those next time.

We went today for Mothers Day lunch and from start to finish it was great. Lovely staff and excellent food. The Staff went above and beyond to weigh food so we could calculate our sons insulin . Would highly recommend The Staveley Arms to anyone.

·

Brilliant! The food was delicious, the staff kind and attentive, and the surroundings very pleasant. We two vegans were well catered for with several off menu options.

The food was lovely, they actually sold out of the rump and offered venison instead, which was surprisingly very nice! But some staff weren’t very helpful when I walked up to bar and I was ignored until someone else noticed me and got me some help. Some of the staff were very nice though and helpful. I would defiantly go again
