Loved our first night's stay, great field, great friendly bar, lovely clean showers. No other pubs in walking distance but hussar more than good enough. The 2nd night a group of approx 7 men and about the same amount of children disturbed all of us campers around them, the children screaming and shining torched in our tent till 11pm and the men all very loud till nearly 1am and unlike some other sites the hussar don't have anyone to monitor this. All the couples near us was just as annoyed but you could be lucky and not have that horrendous experience.

Fantastic food. We had Sunday lunch for 6. Upon recommendation from the brilliant waiter we had the sharer board for 4 but they added extra portions for the remaining 2. Excellent service from all. We'll be back now that we live locally.

What a surprise and a welcomed one at that!!We were caught in the horrific rain/snow/wind/storm over the weekend and decided to seek shelter in the the Yorkshire Hussar's. Immediately we could see, we were not the only ones who had thought to do so. However, the greetings from the staff were great, light hearted and just what we needed as we were drenched and cold. My fiancé and I thought we may as well grab some food whilst we were there, it looked and and smelt great, so would be rude not to. Expecting a long wait time as they were very busy (15:45ish), we were pleasantly surprised, the food arrived on our table within 15-20 minutes piping hot and delicious, much better than we had expected. We had our little girl with us whom the staff made a great effort to entertain, we felt really welcomed. If you are even considering to pop in and give the Hussar's a try - you will not be disappointed. In summary; Very reasonably priced, fantastic food (locally sourced), a plethora of ales, spirits and soft drinks catering for all occasions. The owner was even on hand making sure everyone was comfortable - true gent.Negatives: We now have to go back as it was brilliant. Many thanks for your hospitality.
