Goodfellowship Inn in Kingston upon Hull

Attended a wake yesterday. I wouldn't recommend! The family was mortified due to the lack of buffet for the price paid - just over £350 for a buffet which consisted of 5-6 trays of sandwiches and possibly 2 grab bags of salted crisps with the delight of some massive pickled onions thrown in - wow!!! 60p extra per head and could of got everyone a burger and chips from the pub menu - that's how shockingly over charged and conned we was for this so called 'buffet'.Sadly we didn't take a photo but we could of knocked that up ourselves for probably less then £50. Buffet table was set up and food was bought out only filling just about half the table and then was asked to pay straight away by the bar staff - thought this was a little sneaky as we was under the impression more food would follow with so little on the table so far. Well wasn't we wrong!! payment made and no further food, numerous members of the family asked staff the question and was just shoved off and told they cannot do anything more.Luckily the family pulled together and made the most of it due to the circumstances of the day. Shocking service and price for what was offered. Would not recommend at all if you want to be conned out of a load of money for a few triangle sandwiches and a few crisps to go around 60 people. It was embarrassing for the family as pretty much everyone in the room had something to say about it. Shame on this company and service provided.

We visited The Goodfellowship Inn for mother's day. On arrival what I assume was one of the team managers welcomed us and lead us to our tables and then ran around to find us a baby high chair. All with a smile on her face. The bar staff that took our orders was patient and very happy. The waitresses that served the food and removed empty plated we again as above. The food was by far the best pub grub I've had in a very long time!! The steak was cooked exactly how I asked for it (rare to medium). Everyone else had high praises for the quality of the food, not one complaint. The timings from starters to mains were fantastic and every plate was hot. I would reckoned this pub food to anyone, based on my experience.

A group of us who are Amateur Actors from various Drama Groups across the City of Hull meet at the Goodfellowship Inn every Wednesday afternoon, weather and Covid willing. Today we met up and one member said they were hungry and wanted to eat. We looked at the new menu and three of us decided to try it. We were looked after by Jenny and Lilly who served the food and drinks and I have to say we thoroughly enjoyed the meals. We are all somewhat disappointed that the Carvery hasn't opened yet during the week but fully understand that the foot-fall needs to build up first. So thanks to your kitchen staff and front of house Jenny and Lilly we had a very pleasant afternoon.

Staff were very kind and are very easy to talk to. The food was great and they kept making sure there wasn't any allergies/dietary requirements. Overall very good experience. I am very pleased and would definitely come again.

We got married on Sat 26th February 2022 and had our reception at The Goodfellowship Inn, we had an absolutely amazing time, the room looked amazing and the food and staff were fantastic, a very special thank you to Andrew and John for being absolutely brilliant all day and night

Being vegan eating out can be difficult but was very impressed with the vegan menu especially the cauliflower buffalo wings which were delicious. It would be really good to see vegan cheese as an option for the nachos but overall cannot fault our experience for my daughters 21st birthday and will definitely be returning in the future. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating.

Excellent service, my friend said the scampi was very good for a pub favourite. The pastry on my vegetarian option was a bit heavy going but the contents of the pie were very nice. Delicious desserts. It was very quiet for a Thursday evening in November, hopefully trade will increase during the festive season. We had the November discount code which made the main meals superb value.

Lots of places have changed over the last year or so. Goodfellowship has not, their menu maybe reduced but their service has not. Had a wonderful meal with elderly Mother and disabled Sister. Also staff were very informative, we asked about events that played out before the covid issue. Glad the over 50s is happening we will be attending, especially my 85 year old mum who loves to dance....with anybody......???

We held our wedding reception at The Goodfellowship on 30 October 2021 and we could not speak more highly of the venue or the staff, especially Andrew. Every appointment we had in the run-up to the wedding was fantastic, Andrew could not have been more helpful or lovely to deal with.Everything ran perfectly on the day, the room was decorated beautifully, the staff at the bar were lovely and Andrew and John made sure the day ran as smoothly as possible.We have had nothing but positive comments since the wedding about the venue and also the food. We had a buffet during the day and in the evening and both were brilliant. We also had a family member who needed a plate of gluten-free food, this was a last minute request on our part and again, Andrew could not have been more helpful, providing us with a separate plate of gluten-free food and also informing us which items on the buffet were suitable.We could not have wished for a better venue or a better team to deal with for our wedding, they really helped make the day perfect!Denika and Seb
