Lantern in Kingston upon Hull

Went many years ago and decided to have a trip down memory lane. Extortionate prices! £2.80 for a small glass of lime and soda! My friend asked if she could have an omelette (she’s vegetarian) but was told they had no eggs.The place was very cold (no heating on) no other diners either. After looking at the menu £20+ for a steak plus £5.75 if you wanted a sauce. Then on top of that vegetables, potatoes and chips were around another £4.00 each.After paying for our rip off drinks it didn’t take us long to leave and dine elsewhere.

Nightmare experience. Uncaring staff, £2.80 for half a lime and soda. Zero vegetarian options, apparently the kitchen "has no eggs". Upwards of £30 for a steak n chips with veg. Left before it got worse.

Great meal last night. Wonderful to go back to this excellent restaurant. Well done Niki and Maria. We all enjoyed the food steaks , Halibut, Stroganoff,all superb.

So pleased The Lantern restaurant has reopened, subtle changes in the dining area and beautiful new toilet areas since last time we visited.This place is all about the amazing food & service you receive, the best steaks in town and cooked to perfection. The staff are attentive and friendly, Niki and her sister (I’m sorry I can’t remember your name 🙄) are fantastic host & chef, polite, efficient and always on hand to refill a glass.Thank you for a lovely evening & we will be back again soon.

Great to be back open again. Lovely service and great food. Portions great, taste even better. Group had Halibut, Steak Diane, Battered Scampi and enough sides for 8 people not 4! Dont miss out on the cauliflower cheese!

Just left THE LANTERN restaurant as a party of 4 the food was amazing along with the service. decor.the steak and mushrooms was the best I have ever had thankyou to NIKI and MARIA and staff the food and service you provide is 100% xx mike/Julie.

We had such a great evening. The Porterhouse steak was superb and the service was excellent. Recommend the garlic mushrooms. Perfect for couples and enjoying a night out with friends. Thanks to Nikki and Maria for a great evening. We look forward to returning.

Amazing steaks We visited last weekend and was so glad we did, we had mushroom starters all I can say is yummy yummy yummy, followed by melt in your mouth steaks, very friendly staff and family run. We will certainly be returning, thanks for a great evening.
