Larkin's Bar in Kingston upon Hull

We've been going to Larkin's since at least 11 years ago and it's a brilliant place - food is always good and reasonably priced, they have a great selection of beers and other drinks and staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful.The outside area has been completely redone over the past few years with separate "sheds" for groups which have small heaters and comfy sofas undercover in the main area. They have also installed screens between tables inside to maintain some separation and account for Covid, but somehow this hasn't meant the inside feels cramped.The pub is family friendly with high chairs to borrow for small ones, changing facility and disabled toilet downstairs.

Had a lovely meal out, great atmosphere and staff all helpful, front and back of house, excellent curry and steak done rare, thank you for brilliant service.

Good food, plenty to choose from. Would of been 5 stars but we had a long wait for our sandwich.

We haven't been to Larkin's since before the Pandemic and it has always been one of the best places on Newland Ave and the good news is that it continues to be so.The food is still top notch, with the bolognese burger that I had living up to their high standards set a few years ago. With our group having Pizzas, burgers, chilli garlic chicken, steak and vegetarian curry & salad, the variation of choice on offer is still very good and should appeal to everyone's tastebuds.There is also a large variety alcoholic drinks, with many guest beers from indie brewers. The only complaint I have, and it one that I have with many restaurants, is the lack of diet, caffeine free drink options for people who are diabetic. If they could source more choice for non-drinking or soft drink loving customers, this would be a perfect.Larkin's is a joy for those of us who love both drink and food. Vegetarian & vegans are well-covered also. With reasonable prices, lots of choice and a good atmosphere, Larkin's is still as good as ever.

We went in quite late and had to order our food quickly. I had steak and Stilton sauce which came with chips, a mushroom and a tomato. The steak was cooked to my liking, I enjoyed it very much.

Friendly service from beginning to the end and from all the staff including the manager. Family friendly place as we were 6 adults and a toddler. Decent lunch menu and we ordered omelette (£7.25) and cod fish cakes (£7.95). Big portion at reasonable price. Tasted great. Highly recommended on Newland Avenue.

Booked a table wish ease over the phone, very polite and friendly staff. Ordered food and we're given updates after a little wait to inform us it wouldn't be long, nice touch. The food was delicious I had the chicken ham and blue cheese pie! Very filling and the sauce was amazing, lots of chicken and the extra sauce in a jug was a brilliant addition. We will definatley be returning. (Each table is separated by a screen and it felt really safe as well).

Staff lovely plenty of seats indoors and outside food lovely steak pie nicest meat I've ever had but don't like the puff pastry top, would have been nicer still in a proper pie format .

Another excellent meal at larkins, Kenny the chef will spoil your taste buds, and the service from the front of house team is very efficient, the bar staff are fast and knowledgeable, a great choice of beers, wines and spirits. Spoil your family to a treat
