Papa's Fish & Chip in Kingston upon Hull

Papas is a revolution in fish and chips. A British classic taken to modern realms. The Bilton restaurant is always clean, open, welcoming, and warm. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Shoutout to Sophie who was our amazing waitress! If you’re looking for the best of the best in the Fish and Chips industry, look no further.

Stopped at the Bilton branch on our way home. The premises are always very clean and tidy and the staff are pleasant and helpful. Today was no exception, my fish was perfect thanks to John the fryer and Evie our server was very polite but friendly and chatty while serving us. I prefer this branch to the others in Hull. Highly recommended

We had a lovely lunch here and the experience was brilliant to match. Sarah was an absolute star helping us today and we could not have asked for a better afternoon in Hull!

Can't beat a good fish & chips, good service, quite place, epic food. 100% would return in an instant!Popped back in again today, Olivia P and Sophie served us, absolutely amazing staff and service as always, they were very attentive and polite. Food was amazing as always!

Always first class fish and chips! Staff are so friendly!We travel well out of our way to Papas at Bilton, for good reason! The fish and chips, the spam fritters and the Hull patties are more than delicious, they are incredible, never a bad meal. Always super full and happy after eating dinner here, either for a quick takeaway to munch in our car or the full works in your lovely restaurant (with always enough left overs for the next day too!).What can be said about the charming, super chatty and friendly staff other than they are an absolute credit to this amazing company. Evie C always comes over for a little hello and all her lovely colleagues are just as happy and friendly. Maybe that is why the food taste so good, their enthusiasm is mixed into the ingredients!Only good things to say about this wonderful place, so much more than just a fish and chip shop! What a great place. Service food perfect. Even great music ! A must do. 10 min from the Ferry at Hull !

Unfortunately the chips was re fried and we know this cause we found 6 black burnt ones, they wasn't hot when served, a little on the brown side and very dry and rubbery, some of the batter was still batter mix beneath the fish, wet and thick, and my carton of curry had popped open onto everything by the time i opened it in the car outside of papas, it was all over, unfortunately i couldn't go back in to tell them as my husband had to get to work at the otherside of hull within 25 minutes. This spolit our dinner and its actually put me off going for my fish and chips again which is a shame as we usually dont mind papas but the food was disappointing, rubbery, dry, refried, and uncooked batter and some burnt chips.

Absolutely fantastic.The menu had us in stitches. So original.Long car journey wanted food and this was the 1st place. So glad it was. Staff were amazing,food out of this world and a beautiful building to top it off.Very affordable and massive portions.
