Honestly this place need shutting down rats seen in kitchen

Used this place since the 90’s & has always been ok. Went in tonight & realising it’s changed hands now with the usual staff no longer there. Bought a tray of chips and a fish Pattie, half the tray was scraps instead of chips & well the fish Pattie was overpowered with herbs. Who puts herbs in fish patties. Never again will I use that place.

Don't know whether its changed management but the Mr server man handled my food,no gloves,previous Ladies always wore gloves..ordered the stew n dumps..awful-just a slab of rock with a few peas..no gravy..I've grew up with this chippy (over 40yrs) ..sadly I won't be hurrying bk

Disappointed in smithy's chip shop dont do large fish any more so only do small fish and charge you for a big fish when it's the size of a small fish fish thats a kids special fish and it did not taste good at all so very disappointed in price and taste and chips wasn't very nice neither and the mushy peas was horrible🤢😠😠😠😠

Smithy's is the best chippy in hull in my personal opinion foods great and so are the staff

Great chippy, excellent food and friendly staff. Let's hope it stays this way when it soon changes hands.

Disappointed turned up for fish and chips for me husband and mother was closed early was very disappointed

Very bad fish and chips shop it smells the food it bad if I could give a zero on here I wouldn't go to this shop again friends and family never go again here

I've been coming to Smithys since I was a child, there's a wide range of food to choose from such as lasagna to stu & dumplings, the food & service has always been definitively great, the staff have always taken care of the customers & community for years, hence the reason for it still being in operation after all these years.

I'm surprised I've not reviewed this place before, I've frequented this fish and chip shop for years, and always, always had great fish and chips and quality service from really friendly staff.Well be back soon :)
