The National Pub in Kingston upon Hull

National has been one of my go to’s since a young age. Always come in for a blackcurrant soda and a side of nachos, but the mains are absolutely devine too! Staff have always been friendly over the years and never had any problems, Emily and Chloe are really helpful whenever I attend and make me feel welcomed. great atmosphere, would recommend to anyone

Great pub, great food. Definitely worth a visit.

I got an 8oz yesterday and there must have been 3oz of fat on it. didn't taste nice I recommend drinking in there as the staff are very friendly but the chef needs shooting he would struggle to cook a ready meal

Myself and a friend visited on Friday evening (1/3/22) at 18:30 and had an awful experience. After waiting half an hour for a starter we asked the staff how much longer the food would be and they told us there was an hour wait on food, which had we have known, we would’ve gone else where. At 19:40 we finally got food but it was completely the wrong order. We told the waitress what we did order and she came over with one wrong plate and one that was correct. We also asked if we could have our starter refunded as we no longer had time to eat it, she said yes but then came over with a cold plate of nachos that had no topping’s on them them despite us ordering the cheeseburger nachos. We decided not to bother faffing as we had to leave at 8, but it’s safe to say we did not enjoy our experience. The staff were disorganised, didn’t communicate and we did not receive a single apology.

Visited 01.04.22 for a birthday. Waited 45 minutes for food, very dissapointed with inedible gammon, extreme salt !! Spoke to young man who advised there was nothing he could do as it was down to the supplier. Without a doubt people who ordered the gammon would have complained. Have visited on a number of occasions previously without fault. Not sure if new management as we all felt portions were also smaller. What a shame as loved the food previously.

Came here with my daughter a couple of weeks ago and hadn’t been in for awhile, well I can say I won’t be back. After 4 attempts to order something that they actually had, the food came out and no barbecue sauce on the ribs and chips Luke warm, my daughter then ordered a fudge cake which eventually turned up rock hard round the edges. I spoke to the young lad who seemed to be running around while the young lady with blonde hair stood talking to customers at the end of the bar and he told the lady who came over and said ‘what do you want’. I had no words. Ended up getting my money back. The atmosphere is no longer the same so won’t be returning.

Food we had was lovely... Unfortunately the food we chose from the days menu was unavailable for all four of us... And only at 18:30... Real shame, we must have caught them on a bad day because the alternates were nice.... Servers were pleasant and helpful...

Great pub, good atmosphere beer and food. Staff warm and welcoming. Stuart especially accomodating. 5**

We quite often pop here to meet my wife's sisters and inlaws. We have a catch up a few drinks and some nice food. And a game of pool. What else do you need. Friendly staff and locals.
